Yesterday, when I went to the doctor, and they said that something was wrong with my liver...and I don't know what it is yet.
They told my mom, and she looked real worried, but she won't tell me...

Wow... two health-related topics in a row...
Well, I hope that everything goes well for you and that whatever is wrong with your liver doesn't slow you down too much.

Wow, Nate, that's definitely not what we need right now. Don't worry Yink, you might just have some small problem, maybe a gallstone or something. I hope everything works out for you! You'll be in my prayers.

I'm sure that statement is simply an over-reaction. Although "might die" applies to just about everything, including driving to the doctor and leaning back in your chair. "Don't lean back in that chair o' yours, boyeee, you'll hit your head on something sharp." At least that's the speech I got. I'm doing it right now.
Modern Medicine is more than capable of dealing with the problem, regardless of how severe or small it is. I am sure that everything will end up fine.

Oh, wow, I wasn't expecting a thread like this. Yink, I'm sure everything will be alright, I am worried and I will pray every night for you as well. If you are able, please keep us informed, the last thing I want is to see someone here in bad times. If you need someone to talk to, I'm one person here who's willing, as well as everyone else I'm sure. Hang in there, things will be alright, you'll make a fine recovery.

Man, we got a lot of health problems going around the board. Yink, hope you get better real soon. Guys this is really serious, the liver cleans the blood and if you know blood is very important to the body. Just don't worry too much just make sure to eat healthy and clean you hands regulary.

I doubt that the necessity of the liver is lost on anyone, however, I stand by my statement that modern medicine is more than capable of bringing recovery.

Indeed, there's any number of options available for such recovery. Maybe fifty years ago, imminent death would have been the only option... but this is today, and we don't even know exactly what the problem is.
I wish you'd stop blowing things out of proportion like this, because I mean, look, the only post she replied about was yours, and yours was likely a huge overreaction.
I do hope you get better soon, Yink. I'd wish nothing less on someone like you than to never be plagued by such illness...

My mom won't tell me anything! I'm so freaked out...you don't think she's hiding death from me do you...?
And thank you all, I'm hoping to be ok! I'm made of Steel! (No I'm not...)
Ok...update.
My mom finally told me. She said the doctors said it could be Fatal. ...what does Fatal mean? Nevermind...I looked it up...

...If that is the case, then you will probably need a liver transplant.

No, I seriously doubt it. I believe they give you an anesetic (sp?) that makes you fall asleep and it keeps you from feeling anything. But I'm not sure how the process works. Lazoshi, do you know anything? Sorry I'm not much help, but I want to try to help any way I can.

I think the put you out with laughing gas first so you won't feel a thing. I've been talking about this to my dad (he's a scientist at a hospital) and he says if if this is not dealt with well, umm let's just say it gives new meaning to chop liver. But don't worry too much, doctors today can pull off amazing miracles.
EDIT: And I sort of knew that stuff in the start, I just didn't want to freak you out before you find out for yourself.

I believe it is, but I'm positive your family can help pay for it. If not I'd be willing to do a fundraiser here in my hometown and mail the money to you. It probably couldn't pay the whole cost but it'd help.
