Make a list of the good things in life (other than Yoshi, because we all know that's a given ) that would cheer you up whenever you slip into depression or anxiety. For me, I really enjoy listening to my happy hardcore music, because the fast paced and uplifting beats always raises my spirit. I usually listen to the kind that's very melodic, with strings and pianos, and preferrably a lovely female voice singing. Cheesy or trancy type hardcore always cheer me up. Basically any cute cartoon characters, such as Rocky from Pocky & Rocky . My two happy and hyper dogs. One of them is a chihuahua and the other is like (not to sound showy) the best jack russell terrior I've ever seen. I love them both very much, and they always greet me whenever I walk home from school by clinging on to my legs with such bulbous and watery eyes and panting of excitement and joy. These boards cheer me up. They really do. Without knowing you people... dang, I don't really know what to think. Sunrises and sunshine always work. Beaches, too. Cooking and eating helps a lot. Cooking helps tenfold when you're cooking for others, and not (just) yourself. Watching TV, especially random stuff on Comedy Central. I swear, that's the only station I ever watch, albeit I only use the TV to put on SLEEP mode just so I can drift off to dream land successfully. How could have I forgotten about old skool gaming? SNES rules so much. Especially multiplayer anything! I just love it when I kick back with a bunch of my very trustworthy friends. Unfortunately, that rarely ever happens, and I can't even recall a time I actually did that. But this is not the time to tell sad tales. CHEER UP, EVERYBODY! That's my little list for now. I know there's more, but I can't put my finger on all of them. And I certainly know for sure that there's good for everybody inside everybody! Don't make stupid lists with hardly anything written because you're tearing at the same time you're writing it or just can't stop thinking about your depression. This isn't the time, and it's definitely not the thread to do so! Now everybody go out there and think of happy crap that would slap a smile on your face! EDIT: From time to time, I'll be adding on whatever that reminds me of the good stuff in life. I just hope this thread will never die. I'm pretty sure some people out there needs this for quite the while.

Hmm.....there's a lot of things that make me happy! I don't think i'll be able to list them all!;D
Well....I'll just list a few
-Drawing always makes me happy! Especially if the pic comes out just as i wanted. It helps me express my feelings, whether it's anger, sadness, lonliness, or joy!
-My hyperactive dog, Sheena! She makes me smile all the time! She's always jumpin' on everyone and lickin' everyone! She's so cuddly! I just love her to pieces!
-A nice talk with my friends. That always cheers me up! Laughing and being happy with my friends always takes me out of a slump!
-My brothers! They're hilarious! They always make me laugh! I love playing with them and stuff. Sometimes, i even prefer them over even my best friends! That's how much they cheer me up!
-Getting a good grade in class! That makes me perky for the rest of the day! It kinda makes me think, "Wow, just another step toward college!" Even if it was just a minor worksheet that will probably not affect my grade.
-Hearing a song on the radio that reminds me of old memories! Such as Teh's happycore! That Madonna song used to be one of my favorite songs back in San Diego. A bunch of 90's songs on the radio remind me of hangin' out with my friends at the local bowling alley or rec center! Oh, how i miss them so.
-My mom's cooking! That always puts a grin on my face! Mmm yummers! Her chicken adobo are just like a little pieces of heaven cooked to perfection! Her mashed potatoes really know how to set me off! She usually makes them for a special occasion, such as a good grade.*sighs*
-Stuff at this forum! You might not notice it, but these threads and you guy's humor always make me smile! Whether it's cynical Graedius's opinions or Yoshiken's "evilness" and his dot-dot-dots. Heehee XD All of you know how to make me smile!
Ah well, that's just a few of the things that make me happy! Trust me, there's TONS more. I just can't think of them yet;D

Oh, and the simple premise of knowing I'll one day get FFXI, of course.

Maybe... raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens? Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens? Nah...
Hmm... whenever I slip into a depression, I generally stay there for some illogical amount of time... there usually aren't any specific things I can focus on to feel any better... You see, I kind of believe that what happens in ones life often responds to - and usually perpetuates - ones mood. Happiness begets happinesss, depression begets misery. Perhaps it's just that ones mood alters ones outlook, so that only the positive/negative things are seen, but I've seen quite a lot of convincing stuff arising from games of Mario Party while either really happy or... not.
Ah! One thing that generally makes me happy, regardless: friends. I think that's really the only unconditional comfort I can think of...

well i guess these are the things that cheer me up playing any old school game is one way that'll cheer me up, espicially if the game was super mario 3 or final fantasy 4. Listening or composeing music for fun also helps in my atitude. listening to music from a good game can be very soothing, but the occasional red hot chili peepers or the white stripes helps aswell. btw i tend to linger around vgmusic for a while. I don't know why but watching a aircraft take off is very soothing for me, It happens every day but i just like to stare up into the sky and watch them take off. I guess this relates to the top one but flying with other pilots in flight sim 98 is pretty fun, espicially if theres a atc in the game (air traffic controller) yes this board aswell makes me very happy to be in. this place could possibly be the best board i've been to on the net. Well these are just some ways that help cheer me up!

How could I forget? One of the biggest things to cheer me up is something that usually negatively affects people... I abolutely love Rainy, gloomy, cold, overcast weather, where the sun is not visible. That really makes me happy. I' m usually greatly dishappiefied when it's bright and sunny, on a stereotypical "Nice" day. I'm usually mad at that.

Oh, so just because you like those things, means that our ideas of happiness aren't true? I detect harshness in that quote...¬_¬*

Oh, so just because you like those things, means that our ideas of happiness aren't true? I detect harshness in that quote...¬_¬* I feel attacked. What are you trying to say? I didn't mean ALL other lists were not true. Actually, I didn't even mean any of them were not true. I detect harshness in THAT quote. It was just that some people posted about things they are so exited for, but seemed rather superficial to me. Blargh... never mind. Besides, this is not the place to take the opportunity to lash out at what other people say so you can feel higher, at least I hope you're not.

I didn't mean it to sound THAT bad...its only because other people had posted what makes them happy, and you just went to one and said it was sticking to the topic. I didn't see any rules or regulations about what you had to write to, only you had to post what makes you happy. I don't mind if people don't particularly like what I like, fair enough; but saying 'Thank you for sticking true to the topic' implies to me that you totally disregard mine or anyone elses ideas of happiness.
Please tell me what I'd gain from that, I'd love to hear. Why would I want to feel higher? I'm not trying to look like some bigshot strutting around the forum saying 'do this do that'. I was only stating what I felt was hurtful to me. If you don't want, I won't do it next time. -_-*

Please tell me what I'd gain from that, I'd love to hear. This may be me, but that sounds rather aggressive. I know now that you didn't to mean it THAT bad, but I did feel THAT bad, especially knowing you meant to make it sound bad in the first place, hence why I feel attacked. And no, I didn't mean to imply all other ideas of happiness were false. That's what you were thinking, but I wasn't.
