I've seen it before, the guy who did this played it through on an emulator, frame by frame using savestates every time he made a mistake with it.
Even though he did rely on glitches to do it, its still an impressive run regardless.
From what I hear though somebody else has shaved a few seconds of this time.

This is extrodinarily old and not that impressive seeing as how he didn't go through the entire game in one row and I can do it in about 13 minutes. Well the whole idea is to go through the game as fast as possible. I doubt you'd be able to go through the entire game in 11 minutes if you went through all the levels in order, somehow.

I'm a 13 minute SMB3 speed run player myself, I have my 15 minute run online, nothing really special, died in it too. I can go sub 13 if I have a decent run, everytime I try it I end up wasting so much time in places that are easy x..x
If I ever get sub 13, I'll be happy, but getting 11 minutes? Out of my league for now.

thats really cool, that guy knows how to jump and his items X D. Granted, makes it much more fast and impressive when it deals with savestates and all, everything was timed intricately and if one screw up occured, just reload at last save. I'm not attacking the skills involved, but it's always better from console to see one's ability to speed run.

I couldn't go through it that fast, but I did beat it in an hour or less.
