If push comes to shove, yes i would...
To me, my loved ones are more important than myself, so sacrificing my own life to save them would be my top priority in such situations involving this kind of thing... like what PFY said, i would feel horrible if i let the killer do his deed to that loved one... and if i did sacrifice myself to that bullet, i would have no regrets in knowing that i died to save someone else from the same fate.

Definitely. Pretty much explaining why would be redundant since all I can think of has been already said here in this thread. I just hold loved ones and close friends much higher than myself.

Yes, now certainly, if I don't chicken out first. >> I have had a gun pointed at me before, and trust me, I was scared to death. I've had a guy try to get me too. Even for a random person in the street. I would feel better about myself than I do now living, or die knowing that you had helped someone in your life.
>> This topic is depressing. -_-;;

I don't think it is depressing. It's more of like... a game. A game where the answer is meaningless, especially when compared with the importance of the thought one used to get their answer.
Of course no one is going to say "Nope. I would stand there and watch my loved one die." under "ideal" conditions. Just like there is a big difference between can't and won't, there's a massive difference between could and would.
So, could I? I think not. The situations where it would be possible without knowing about it ahead of time are rare enough, and guns have more than one bullet.

just because you are a Christian doesnt get you into heaven. you have to be a moral and righteous person. If you are a Christian and use drugs all over the place, do ya think he will want you with him? But that's the biggest and best Christian fallacy, you see! "Salvation is through faith, and not works." So basically in Christianitry you just have t obeleive he's there and do whatever the hell you want since all sins are treated equal and all sins are forgiven already, right? Kill a few people, shoot a few drugs, get involved in a few conspiracies -- what's a few sins to the faithful and preforgiven? >>;

yes, I just couldnt believe that. God is perfect, which means he is just, which means he is disciplinary, which means that he would judge with much more than just your faith. "Faith without works is dead" as the BoM says ^_^. It takes much more to get to the Celestial Kingdom of God

I can believe that when you can be forgiven of your sins, you can start all over again with a clean slate. But you can still do all the bad things that you were just forgiven for. God can forgive anykind of sin, be it Venial or Mortal sins. "Killing People" or "Shooting Drugs" can be very bad sins hence the "Killing" part is one of the violations of the commandments. It has to take prayer and belief and everything will turn out good!

well yes, of course, repentance is the key part to the Lords atonement. You always have a chance to be forgiven of your sins. The most important part of repentance is trying not to do the sin again! No ones perfect, so if you do sin again, you can still gain repentance as long as you TRY not to do the sin. You cant just do something bad and repent and then say to yourself, "well! I can just keep repenting! so I can just sin anytime i want!" ^^

Faith without works is dead If there was to be any shred of any religeon that would make any sense to me, it would at least be that statement, saying I beleived it's existence at al... beleiving that by faith you're automatically saved regardless of what you do is a mere cop-out and nothing less.

For someone I don't know...doubt it. That's just how I am. If I don't know them it'd be like...it's none of my business. But Hell, yes I would do it for someone close. I'm sorry for your grandfather.....truly, I am.
