Mine expresses the emotion of craziness.

Characters don't really have to express some certain emotion. They can show a wide array of emotion. ^_^

No specific emotion, really. She's [Pawy] generally a... generlization, more towards kinder and more passionate emotions, tohugh. Like someone else here said, most characters really don't represent a single emotion.

My character usually represents love, joy, and cheer, seeing as he is but a Yoshi kid.

Mine represents my hidden emotions. While most of the time he's serious, he's actually happy and easygoing, even though mature, he likes to keep things childish XD

Mine represents happiness and hope. He's rarely ever serious as of lately, though. XD

My character represents geekiness. Usually happy and calm, but not necessarily the case in my current avatar.

As many have said throughout this thread, a character can more-less show many faces of emotion. Everyone has a diffrent belief in how their "alter-egos" act, and therefore you start to believe that the true face of a character is based on one emotion. While in full that is not always true, based on the fact that a person will usually show a certain array of emotions that they usually do not. You can find that a kind person in your eyes may be obsessed with what seems to be a darker character. You could find that a dark seeming person may have the most caring and adorable creature prepared and ready in their mind. It usually seems that you will obtain the oppisite of who and what you really are. It also seems that at times your character will in ways image something you wish to see yourself as. You may base it off your fetishes and you may show it off your hobbies. A character can reflect any aspect of a certain human, but this aspect is usually one which the carrier keeps inside of themselves. Because of that, you start to learn about a newer side to the person. If you could know someones character, and themselves, then you would be able to decipher more and more about them.
For example, Contention's show of emotions could be based as many diffrent things. It all fully depends on what I feel, or what string of thoughts I am going through at the moment. Therefore, in an essence he becomes another being or another part of emotions that I am incapable of showing. This goes with others as well. At times their characters will give a picture into the things they wish to say and wish to be like. They are just mere images into the soul and what you really want to be. It seems that when someone makes a character, while focusing it on themselves, they also focus it on their goals. I have seen many characters which are influenced by events in life and therefore have faces on them that are so very original. The stature of your character, is usually based on how you co-interact with your imagination. However, the ability to create one is in all of us. It depends on how much you really wish to show it, and if you are able to let it seep out and pass any barriers you might create.
If dreams are trully acts of symbolism for what the human conscience really wants, then the character could be shown as an "artistic piece" in which you show what it is you really would wish to have. Who knows what you could create, and who knows what you are really thinking. That's why it is always a present to see what someones character looks like. In some way, your Yoshis and your other characters are who you are. They are who you want to be, and in an essence who you could never be. Maybe, somehow, someway, you could surpass the normal boundaries and prove that to be wrong.

I, Lava, am just what I am in real life--an autistic, friendly, aggressive, sensitive, touchy, and ever-so-insane lil' bundle.

My Yoshi is the same as I am in real life. Meek, moral, romantic, and laid-back. But if I know you really well, I can be sarcastic and playful. XD

My character expresses evil and flaming of hatred, but deep inside shows love to any girls he desire. For me IRL, I'm just random, whatever I'm being acused of, I can be pretty aggressive.

I suppose my character shows a wide variety of emotions... i can't say he's been made to express one emotion overall.

My Yoshi's personality isn't like most others. He's a bit of a shy one and therefore quiet. I suppose that is an emotion

You know what? I have no clue. My character has no real...emotions thingies. She's kind of like... a slab of brick. I've never been able to identify her feelings.
