I really liked this one X-Men Game for the GameCube, hahah... we rented it a lot. ;3 Yeah, I'd probably have to say Street Fighter II, as well. Lots of Memorieds with that one, and Mortal Kombat 3 -- mainly because Shao Khan, after hitting you with a massive hammer, would point, laugh, and say, "You suck."

Yes, the second one.
While obviously fighting, I don't really count it because it's so radically different from every other fighting game that exists, hahah... which the category manly pertains to, or else I would have said Melee.

I don't play very many fighter games, but I love Super Smash Bros Melee. I play that all the time with my friends, and I beat them most of time. The first SSB was cool too, though.

Street Fighter 2. I still have the same copy of it from 1992. It was the first non Mario game I played besides Nascar 98 on the PS1.

The Smash Bros arn't exactly the "fighting games" you'd think of in the sense that they're nothing like Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, Marvel vs. Capcom, or any of the other fighting games that never change.

I love Bloody Roar and Soul Calibur 2! They were great fighting games, and had really great graphics and soundtracks! I really like how the Game Developers created a unique ambience for the arenas.

Ah, fighting games are always hard at times to decipher through and choose the best coming;
Long ago though, fighters were special, the arcade ones that is because of how they acted. They had certain movements that would just keep you occupied for hours on end. That is if you had the change to spare, or if it was one of those free days at the area. When younger, Mortal Kombat was something very popular which lead to the movies. One was grand, the second one plummeted like cement shoes to the bottom of the ocean. There it can live with its bony fish in a friendly manner, no one wants to look at it. Yet the games lead into something new, it was always grand to hold a Fatality on someone. Some of the most hideous moves were obtained through that game, and this evolved into new settings for fighters to come. Mortal Kombat also had grand settings in which the characters were placed for moments in time, and from this came the special feel to the fights alone. Beginning a match in that game always kept one involved until they would come to their fall. Strange how those arcades always managed to be in Dairy Queens.
Within this era though, fighters go head to head; especially in their motives and actions. It can be difficult to displace one to level higher than the other. Of course though, Soul Calibur series has always been great. The ability to change and wield weapons with the course of the moves adds to the serenity that is produced. This of course is doubled by the enviroments, those of which can even be used against your enemy. Such as an icy floor or a surrounding bowl of lava on the outskirts. You can end battles quickly by throwing one out of a match, or you can keep them together for long times marking up your skills. Either way you go at it, the game gives you many openings into a new set of play rules for the fighter genre.
The newer Mortal Kombats are harsh, especially when it comes to training. Some of the objectives are impossible to complete, making you compile a touch of four buttons at once followed by some joystick movement. Thus, games like Bloody Roar take over what Mortal Kombat could have had. But, Bloody Roar allows one to change the shape of their character to that of animal characteristics. That was something grand to experince, in the fact you could do new damage let alone feel a bit giddy. It was fun to change in matches and challange your friends, who wouldn't want to become a lion at the click of a button.

Well, when I was younger I was seriously addicted to Mortal Kombat for the SNES, though I've never beaten it. After that though it was SSB for the N64. After the Gamecube, it was SSBM and SSB, and it sucked since I've never owned SSB, I was always borrowing it from my cousin, one reason I love SSBM, I own it. Recently though, the most addicting fighter games have been Mortal Kombat Deception, loved the storyline of it. And then there's all three of the Budokai games for PS2, and the Budokai Tenkaichi game, which I'm currently addicted to, thanks to my cousin. He wanted to try it out, and then I became re-hooked on it, and I was in the middle of playing Resident Evil too! So yeah, those are my most addicting ones.

I always had a lot of fun playing Primal Rage (Old Atari arcade game) I also had some fun with Mortal kombat games. I haven't however played the street fighter games yet, so I don't know if that will become my new favorite or not.

It's a tie between Soul Calibur 2 and Smash Bros Melee. Both of those have got extensive VS play time.
...of course Final Fight is in a league of its own. Theres something cool about the town Mayor who's primary method to reduce street crime is to brutally kill every thug in the entire city, and in some cases multiple continents.
Mayor Mike Haggar for President!
