From the (not-so-)great mind of Max, here's another question for everyone! And before you ask, I mentioned saddles and shells because I know there's a debate on this, but that's not the point of this topic..
Anyway, once again for the Yoshies here, what are your feelings about having people or things riding on your saddles or shells? And for everyone as well, what has your experience been when thinking about members of the Yoshi community and people riding on their saddles or shells?
I personally would let close friends ride on mine, or someone in an emergency situation.. But I wouldn't usually just let anyone ride on it.. I've also noticed that I don't know many people who are for letting anything ride on them, so I was curious.. Thanks in advance!

=O Saddles and shell's, eh? Well. I, for one, would let someone ride me, depending on who they are, that is. As you said, a close friend, yes, or someone in an emergency, yes... But a random dude? D; NEVARRR! D:< Maybe if they paid me. And it depends on how much. Yesss. I can see it now. "Yoshiko's Bus Business". Except, I'd only be able to carry one person at a time, I think... XD

I don't like shells. I have a saddle, hand-crafted from my home island, not some manufactured factory-made shell from Japan.
Sure, I let people ride on my saddle, but not just any people. Just ask politely, we'll see...

Twi wouldn't let someone use his saddle because for a start, he doesn't have one and also he's just wouldn't let anyone because he doesn't like anyone. He'd just kill anyone who asks, thus no-one rides on Twi.

Not being a Yoshi, I can't say much, but... I like the idea of being able to on willing participants. :3~

If you ask really, really, nicely, maybe Enrique will give you a little ride around the park. In terms of long-distance trips (as in over one mile), you're going to have to catch the bus or a taxi.

Depends, is it a 250 plumber? D: Gem is still a young Yoshi too, and is not fully grown so... yeah. I don't think she is carring anything over 80 pounds. Maybe some 7-8 year old though. TRIPLE BONUS MULTIPLIER ! !

Even though Digi doesn't wear a saddle, if someone randomly jumped up without asking, she'd probably punch said person in the face and walk away. ^o^ With asking..meh, depends on the person.

I'll let ANYONE ride my saddle, as long as if you're not 300lbs in weight of course... and if you ask me politely... and if you don't whack me in the head to grab an enemy...

In character: No, I'm no transport. It's just for show. Go away. Mount me and taste steel. >> OOC: I'll allow you to ride Pink so long as you send some money my way. I like donations. ^^;
Me roleplay wtf.

Thats a strange thing to remark upon; merely dependent upon the bounty that resides on that saddle and the way everything works. Not being a Yoshi persona is one thing, but looking at the others who have to go through it is peculiar. For while the creature might have the ability to carry a heavier load; how high can it really get? Perhaps there might be weight limits to what they are, and how it moves along; some kind of control in their back arch; or a larger spine than usual. The Post-Tail is pretty much the part which supports the passenger; strange in ways, persay the Yoshi tail is full of catilage or something to add strength to it. It's interesting really how all of the Yoshies have some sort of saddle on them. As if they can't keep going without them, that it might be painful. Hey who knows, it might be born with them at birth; oh those Yoshis, forced to carry others around due to their laziness. The woes of having a saddle grow out of your back from the first day you are born. Everyone just wants to constantly ride you; not in that mature "you-should-be-over-twenty" type of way either. Due to our natural ability to percieve and assume on sight; there are certain things that we take note of, especially the saddle in the back of everyones beloved creature. Gem hit a good point as well, it had to be hard for Yoshi to carry Mario at times, that man was overweight and everyone knows it. Sure, the baby form was easy; but think of the diffrence between a month-old Mario and a Middle-Aged Mario. Actually, who knows how old Mario is; he has a mustache though, so he must have had some sense of puberty.
The saddle makes the man; or well, in this case the Yoshi. Everyone has their own little nifty color of saddle that they carry around. It's like one of those designer bags that you can buy at the mall; a Yoshi is incomplete without a snazzy color on his/her back. Yet, you never see anything akward and stand-outish like cheetah designs and Gucci. Well fine then, wonder what type of material it's made out of anyway; it could infact be pleather. That might not be true though, it might be the whole real-deal. Only those who have felt it can say and give their honest opinion. Since Yoshi doesn't exist, certain complications arise to give a very large cup of "Can't-be-done". Wonder if Yoshi could in fact, take the saddle off; or if his little arms can even reach back behind his tail to do anything in the first place. Seems that this speices is an all in one deal; make eggs, eat things ten times larger than itself, and still manage to carry around a half-worked bum on their backs. If you cut off a Yoshi tail, maybe it will grow back; since you know it has that whole type of Lizard feel to it. It just seems this creation has an inevitable fate of having to manage for others as well as itself. Also be warned, if you fall off of Yoshis back, you seem to get caught in a never-ending floating bubble. As to why, no one knows, but it just happens to all the occupants around.
With so many new personalities though in the Yoshi fandom, it would be nice to see how it all goes together. Because, if your Yoshi also has a long head of hair; wouldn't you worry about choking your partner to death with your bustles of stringy, flying, multi-colored beauty? All they would get is a fist load of your growth across their face everytime you started to run. Hopefully everyone bathes to; because you're going to be on top of your friend, more or less; showing that, if you don't like cleansing that much, everyone would soon find out in due time. Besides, what if your "friend" happened to rip your saddle; would you be one of those "friends" who would make him/her pay fifty dollars to get you a new one? Being a "Supportive" Yoshi would make you like a Car-Pool; hopefully your passangers don't have kids. You all shouldn't anyway, you're all teenagers; if you do, we aren't even going to touch that at all. Shame, shame, shame.

Nope, no Saddle. I wouldn't let most people ride on. Because: 1) They would probably fall. 2)I don't like it.

Heh... saddles as a fashion statement...
I've always seen the saddle as sort of a symbol of the Yoshis' selfless nature and willingness to always lend a hand... or back, or tongue, or whatever the need may call for.
As such, I'd probably have no aversion to offering a ride. So long as the rider's intent isn't malicious. 'Course, that's assuming I'd actually be WEARING the saddle at the time. Symbol or no, the thing DOES get uncofortable after a while.

I think I've worn my saddle for so long that the small of my back has become a very sensitive spot when touched...
