Alright, so, recently, I've been stressing my face off to come up with something that might interest people. Tourneys only seem to turn up mediocre success, YCDnD was a hit but it's limited by the fact that I don't have many DMs. So, it's time to try something new! You people know what OpenCanvas is, right? Opencanvas, or "oC" is a program that lets you draw, like Photoshop or whatever. A really old, freeware version of this program, though (version 1.1) has networking capabilities! I'm fairly certain most artist types have probably used this program in the past. It's a lot of fun, you can get up to four people in on the action and everybody can draw as they please on the canvas, making fun of each other and their art. Ooooh, good times to be had. So, I was thinking, why not try and get some kind of... OpenCanvas club going or something? People can hook up with each other in the Yoshi's Corner IRC chat, get a server going, doodle away, and post their creations on the art forum somewhere! Then everybody can see the monstrosities multiple minds can put together. You don't even have to be a supertalented artist. If you just like to screw around and doodle, this'll be good times. What do you guys think? Would this be something you'd be interested in messing around with? Oh, as for downloading this shindig... www.google.com Or just ask me for the program over messenger or IRC or something, and I'll see what I can do. OH YEAH AND ONE OTHER THING. Hamachi can be used for people who suck and are stuck with routers, among other problems. So you can go download that here: secure.logmein.com/products/hamachi/vpn.asp?lang=enmootnote: I'm in ur topic, editin ur postz. The oC download can be downloaded from the download link here: moot.yoshicurio.com/files/oC11b72rv1.exe

Oh yeah. oC is incredibly fun, indeed. I've never really networked too extensively before, but I'd definitely be interested in doing something like this. Sadly, I apparently can't. But since a lot of people here are into artistry and downloading oC isn't too complicated, I do think you'll get a big turn out for this.

Again, I propose the Pokemon Netbattle server. You never know Strangie, you may find a newfound love in Pokemon. I can't draw to save my life so I'll be hanging back on this one too, I think.

Dude, I was wondering what program lets you chat through art. I'm so going to get in on this. EDIT: Wow, that was a quick download. Awesome.

Hahaha, you know me. Any time anyone wants to doodle, I'll be ready, because lined paper at school doesn't always cut it.

Drawing doesn't even matter in this. You just need to be funny.

I'd be up for this, certainly. If anyone needs oC I can always throw it up on mootnet to save passing it around via messengers.

When you do, go ahead and edit my post with your download link, moot. Glad to see there's some interest in this. Doodle partiiiiees. Also, PFY, nobody cares if you suck at drawing. D: -I- suck and nobody cares about that! And I still draw anyways. Come oooooon. You know you wanna.

No, you are pretty snazzy with that mouse, so really, if I were up for it, it'd solely be for a laugh, because you're not going to get anything remotely decent from me bar a few scribbles lols. If it is a client-server model that this uses (A program dedicated to hosting) I can host until everyone gets bored of it if needed. My German Windows server Osprey is currently doing pretty much bugger all. :/

Hmm, this is something I might actually be interested in joining. It might even help my art skills a bit, as it would have me more involved in drawing, something that I haven't been doing a whole lot in these past few years.
And say, how well-written is the netcode for this? Is there noticeable lag? What if two people try to draw in the same spot at once? What happens then? And how many people can participate at once? Does the drawing turn out the same on both sides of the connection? Hmm...

Sounds fun, I'll check it out... at some undefined point, but I definetaly will see this. Sounds fun, and I can show off how crappy an artist I can be! YAY.

Everybody has their own sets of layers so its not like you can scribble over anybody elses stuff and ruin it. Well, unless you're an ass and do it intentionally, but I don't think any of us will be doing that. As for how many people you can cram into a session, I think 4 is the maximum.

Man, I usually choke whenever people drag me into these kinds of sessions. I usually just end up testing my handwriting or something.

That's what I do. ~HI-FIVE.~ I somehow lack drawing talent and initiative in these, and then have a seizure on the floor. It doesn't turn out well, so I do something simple. Like write. Yeah, I'm real exciting.

Now that RuneScape supports clans...=3 I'll pass. How about starting up an Oekaki? I was going to look into it. An Oekaki is similar to oC sort of, it's a separate board where you can use the program provided(built into the page) to make your own pictures and post them right away.

I like the idea of an Oekaki, honestly. A few boards I've been to in the past have had them, and they generally created a good amount of activity, as well as encouragement, even if you were a novice at the arts (like m'self).

But that doesn't involve multiple people throwing their pencil tools all over the place. I wanna see what people can do when they team up and go nuts on the canvas. I'll keep that Oekeki thing in mind, though. Unless someone else can set one up somewhere for Yoshi's Corner, I don't know anything about that.
