It's at times like this that questions come to mind on a prefrence of what you all as the community would see as a fit addition to a piece of the Yoshi's Corner. Of course, this is all up to you guys and what you see fit for things going on around here. This, which you shall read, is about a proposal for, well, what's in the name of the title. Yep, something along the lines of a Talkshow, straight for your viewing of a member here on the boards. Of course, this is where you all come in for a moment. Before this can even go underway there needs to be a certain set of boundaries set up that everyone can understand. As a talk show, there are bound to be a set of additions that have to be followed for it to go into order. Of course as well, this won't happen unless it is motioned after a set of time. So, do as you please, this all flows in your opinion and the way you see things to hit the mark. Going on, to start a Talk Show for anything you need the one who does the interviewing.

Here we come to our first little addition; who will do the duties? This position can not just be handed away. There must be a fair little voting system here so someone can recieve it in the end. However, this will not be a public vote by any means. This vote shall be private and set to each of you in a PM. Once the canidates have been figured out, you will be asked of whom you would chose. The one with the most votes will become the next step to this program. To do this right though, you must leave the name attatched to your reply and send it back to the source it came from. Don't make it known to the world, merely based on the matter that as humans no one wants to get into a fit of jealousy if they win or lose over something. So far there are a few who have accepted that they would like to try out for this hold. This includes:

Remember as well, you can keep adding; just mention that you would like to try and you will go on the "ballet" for those in the want for such. Whoever is chosen as well, or mentions their name might be suspected of a small interview themselves. Just to see your personality and how you would plan to ask questions. Nothing big, but just to make sure you have the time and the questions on hand to ask the members around you.

Coming to the next section, you have to cover the idea of the members who will be asked questions. This section really hasn't been very covered. However at this moment in time it seems that they shall be handpicked by a random roulette. So you could be it one week, and not know. This can change into a voting system itself. Yet, you may wonder why this has come to be anyway. One reason is a recent rise in the members coming to Yoshi's Corner. They enter here unknown to the others and can feel left out. It's time to let them know that they are cared about in this community and should get their chance to speak something about themselves. But, and a major But, this does not leave out those who have been here longer as well. Everyone is open to this chance of being asked something. Even the Mods can, and should, seeing as everyone deserves to know those who also watch them from what seems to be the shadows.

Now this is on you all: You can vote for this motion, and also put up your name if you would like to try out for the interviewer position. Word to the wise though; there are some requirements. You should at least have some time spent here, not fresh off the docks. Also, to have yourself a set of time to spend, so when it comes to asking questions you will have the chance to do it long enough. Just the simple things, but don't worry. If you would like to, always feel free to say, anything. Here you go, now run, run like wind.

And a question, is this going to be an audio thing, or just text?

Yes, there will be samples for all in the canidate list; that way, it can give the people a view of their personalities and how they will take things. Of course, what should be on this example could also be helped. So if you have an idea Lazo of what they should put down on it, please do say if that is no trouble. As for Gar, the idea of Audio is actually a good idea. In fact, that would make this whole thing very very interesting. The only issue with that is the probelm that some might not have the capability of getting audio and headsets to talk through. In the issue of such it might to stick to text. Unless, of course, you could find someone who wanted to do Audio and had Audio. How you go at it is up to you, the host that gets chosen.

Audio conversations can be recorded and archived easily. I can set a teamspeak server up if needed and host it on this machine. I can host files online too if need be, but it's upto everyone. Recordings can be made extremely easy with teamspeak.

Yes, text would be a better option in this matter. Some people do not have microphones, others may not have high speed connections (like yours truly), and some yet could suffer both deficits.

Ah yes most definetly, but it was not myself who adressed for the microphones to be used in any certain way. The word Talk Show is progressed not from the roots of Talk as in verbal communication Joshi, but in the effort of communication between two people. Of course today some people say, "I'm texting my friends online" but in honest truth the word usage should be accounted for talk. So calling it a Text so is like using slang terms. As for the rest of the body, yes the microphone incident is actually something up for debate. Seeing as Enrique mentioned and others, that a majority might not have mircophones this could pose an issue. As well, many won't download such a file if it will take their computer a certain amount of time to get it all down. If its typed up, then all can see it without having to worry about their modem progression. Anyone with dial up might find downloading a full conversation could be quite taxing on any behalf. You need a certain area that can bend to the whole crowd in general.

And I really wouldn't want to listen to a voice conversation. You can't go through a voice conversation at your own speed and leisure; listening to voices is very tedious.

Yes, but can you get the depth of emotion, the feeling that you KNOW the person as well through text? Voices can convey emotions that mere images (which is what text is) cannot. Voices can make things so much richer, deeper, and add a certain element to things that text can never hope for.

But yes, Enrique has a point about the microphones, and Contention about the text.

True, while there is more in the emotion; that can account for many things. However on that behalf, if such is an issue for the one who gets this. You can do what pleases you. Every single one hits a large point, using voice or not. If such comes to be, and you choose to use voice there should be one requirement. You need to make the manuscript of the conversation written out and posted up with the voice. That way anyone who doesn't want to listen or download won't have to. There are many ways to go at this, all from prefrence of what we have seen over time. It's just a matter of what can be done on each end. There are those who won't download due to speed or just the lack of wanting it fully when it would be easier to read and that's true. There are others who feel that the text is nothing but black and white letters on a screen that don't give any true feeling. But there should be enough of a line to spread between the two to keep the parties happy. Text of course, is original in its spread and can get around on the world level; voice could be more, "confined" to only certain computer modems and such. So deciding is up to that one who gets it, and will listen to the most lusted method.

Oh, no, not everyone, only those that feel they'd like to talk instead of typing down. Not everyone has a headset, so we can't really expect people to buy it all just to do this.

The reason I think the idea of doing voice (Providing an mp3 of the interview, and a transcript, for those that prefer to read) is good is because I don't have to sit in front of a PC to read it. I can listen to a bunch of interviews or podcasts (Which a staff member of another forum decided to start doing) while out of the house, on the bus or whatever. Being someone who spends great lengths of time at a PC, juggling a ton of projects, I get through a ton of podcasts and talking with friends on Googletalk and Skype, but this is me, not everyone, I just made the suggestion.

Not all of us have the time to spend long periods sitting in front of a PC and some would prefer to get their daily/weekly/whatever Yoshi's Corner fix while they're on the way to work, school or working, or just getting around. If forums were all audio instead of text, Double-scoop ice cream.

You hit a point there with that comment. It comes to a drawing border of certain ideas though. Merely though, as stated, if the interviewed does not wish to have a microphone conversation with the host they can choose easily to not to. However, they can also go right along with it. Yet, for such, there should be something done for those with slower modems than the average of other things.

When it comes to downloading any type of file on a slow connection; it can take up to hours and if not maybe a day at the most. But, logically on a file such a as a talked session it may take up to at least an hour or even down to thirty minutes. This all depends on the usage spent during the interview. The variable can change from any position at any moment; such can cause things to upstir between diffrent crowds. So, if it can be done there needs to be some type of negotiation on the parts. Depending on the position given, that whom decides the take of the show needs to make sure of one thing. That the information recieved can be given on a global basis to the forum instead of a select group of individuals.

To get to such, at least some type of transcript should be written for a portion of "voiced" area. That way, for those without the want to download, they could easily obtain a version of what they choose. Of course, this might be taxing on he whom must write it down; yet it will allow more freedom in the flow of these forums to the members. The format of what is done is up to that person who decides to do it. As long as of course, it can be grasped on a scale that is allowed for all eyes to see. It's a chance to let those who don't get to be known a bit more by what YC is. To at least give a chance in a board that is growing nearly everyday, and also put an end to the pushing and shoving for some kind of light.

But all the suggestions are up to you all to go over on if you wish to. Just recall that there should be some type of level of how things are taken so we can all hear the finished file. As long as it allows you free expression and a sense to be yourself; give it some originality and do what you please. The baton is definetly in your palm, and never let it slip loose. By the sounds of how things are playing, the whole lap is running right along. Don't worry though, you all seem to have something there in the confines of your mind. It comes down to you and how you plan to roll along. There is a path, and going for it is up to the whole crowd as a whole and one for an individual.

Grah, I need to look in the Bulletin Board more XD, im like a week late XD. Well, I just put my vote in ^^. I wouldnt really like to be the interviewer, BUT, I do think it would be quite exciting to be interviewed ^_^.
