Poochy

We all know Poochy as a dog that helps out the yoshies. There are alot of things to talk about with Poochy though. Here are some things I'm wondering. One, whats the story behind Poochy, where did he or she come from. Two, What is Nintendos idea of a dog (Chain Chomp's suppose to be a dog too I think, and Poochy's suppose to be a dog too, but where are his ears, and Chain Chomp is um, a circle) Not to say I don't like the two of them . The point being, this is here for people to talk about Poochy and the dogs of Nintendo.

I think Poochy is absolutely adorable and very helpful. He's a little Angel, but I really don't understnad their style of dogs. Nintendo creates their own fantasies and we live it, sometimes a little weirdness can make great things happen.

You know, I haven't seen Poochy in any new games so far, I hope nintendo brings him back! Then again, there haven't been many yoshi games either I hope they have a game with both of them sometime soon. The last time I saw Poochy, was in Yoshi's Story for the N64!

Wait, this conversation's about Poochy. And Nintendo dogs. You know, Chain Chomps haven't always been in Mario games...they made one of their first appearances in Link's Awakening, under the alias of "Bow Wow". They haven't been seen at Link's side ever since, but they were renamed "Chomps" and were cast as terrifying enemies in Yoshi's Island. Yes...despite the fact that the Chomp was only a black circle with teeth, they always scared me when they appeared right behind you, hot on your heels! Who said Nintendo had a bad idea?

(And about Poochy's missing ears...well, where are Yoshi's ears, huh?)

The chain chomp was, indeed, in Link's Awakening, but that wasn't its first appearance. Mario 3 is the creature's origin, as with many other enemies. And on the subject of its name and seeming dog-like-ness, its Japanese name is "Wanwan", which is essentially Japanese for "Bow-wow." This leads to their dog connection, especially the fact that they bark, and the direct translation of the name to "Bow wow" in Link's Awakening.

As for Poochy... well, I don't know what's up with Poochy. He just kinda barely qualifies as a dog.

Ok, on Yoshi's Island there is a level with a door at the start behind you. Inside is a Mini Chain Chomp. Does that have any use? I think its at the Jelly Ghost Guy (World 5-4)

Did Nintendo ever say how the yoshies got Poochy
I was thinking it'd make a nice plot for a future game. The game could take place in the past, and it could start with the yoshies finding Poochy, and then Bowser coming and taking him, and then the yoshies have to get him back, something of that nature. There could be towns and stuff that the yoshies could walk through on their way (Like the MarioRPG, but I don't know if it'd be a RPG), and maybe a level where you get to play as Poochy! (I know I should of posted this in the game ideas probally, but it still has to do with Poochy) By way, is Nintendo planing on bringing Poochy back? They have chain chomp in their games, but I haven't seen Poochy in a long while!!
