Whenever I enter the website my com starts to lag. It takes like 20 seconds to open a thread and like 30 to create a new one. Does this happen to you guys?
Oh i use netscape I tried internet explorer but that doesn't work, It doesn't let me log on.

It doesn't happen to me... unless there's a lot of pictures that have to be downloaded.

Yeah I think my connection lags, but I'm not sure because my mouse is crappy so i have no way of telling if it clicked the button or not, so I have to click it a few dozen times...

Sounds like either a Cache or Temporary Files problem...
If you're like me and use a Browser called FireFox, You shouldn't run into too many problems. Internet explorer is odd. The whole browser will go slow if you haven't emptied the temporary files or cache in a good while.
In Internet Explorer, Click "Tools" and Internet options.
In the new window that pop's up with "Internet Options" in the Titlebar, click Delete Cookies and do the same with Delete Files. Both will ask you to confirm this, and click ok, and you're done.
If you haven't configured Internet explorer before, it'll use an extremly large share of your Hard drive space to store random stuff by default. Firefox Limit's itself to 50Mb. Internet explorer will limit itself to ~10% of your drive. So if you have an 100Gb Hard Drive, it'll help itself to 10Gb of it...

One problem might be: I'm having a "No Responce" from my Tracing Program... by a server in Washington. Information still passes through it though, slowly...
Another, when you open a large thread with many pages, proboards's server has to open up the database for that thread and split all the posts into groups of 15-20 to fit on each page and then it can send it out. Don't forget that Proboards's servers have to do this operation at least 1000 times every 5 minutes because hundreds and probably thousands of boards exist on the one server.

Could also depend on how stable your computer is at the moment. If it's an older machine, (Talking 3-5 + years) you are going to find that they will start to slow down, and if you haven't been taking care of your machine, it's going to do so considerably. Maybe it's time for a reformat, maybe it's time for some more RAM. Check out the stats on your computer to find out where it's heading.
Slow internet connections also tend to have issues with graphic intensive pages, where loading time seems to drag on forever. Unfortunately, you can't do much to resolve that, unless you go and get yourself a quicker modem, or jump to something like broadband.
I got a 56k Dial up at home, and some days, it just gives me murder. Not a fun experience, but it could be worse - You could have a 28k. ^^;;
Good luck! n.n

I'm on 56k too. This computer is about 5 months old. You don't really have to replace anything on your computer to make it faster but a reformat and re-install of windows goes a long way... You'll see a brand new side to your computer again... before you do format though, back all of your work up! that's what a CD-Writer drive is there for! Warning: Formatting your drive will destroy EVERYTHING! make sure you have your original Windows CD before you make any changes to your computer. when you have everything out ready for the re-install, back everything up onto CD. If you don't have a CDRW Drive, use floppy disks. There is another way but that's very complicated and for advanced users only... Just thought i'd say if anyone's planning to do that... Yes, I have noticed a lag... I have to wait about 10-15 seconds for the server to send out info to me. It's not really your machine. It depends where in the world you are and what relay servers the information goes through to get to you. Below is a screenshot from my tracing program showing the location of these boards. As you can see, the connection at the server is a slow one... (The link is grey)

That's not a server, it's a router!
