Not really.. depends on the situation that is.. but i don't find it stupid at all.. just find that most people are rather shy showing theirselfs on the net.

Welp, I personally don't see it as a major issue, but, I also don't like doing it.
It's just that I am sure that the world would suddenly implode into itself if images of myself found their way online.
But, if you are concious about other people online (After all, we really don't know who the other person really is on the other side of the screen) then, don't do it. Don't throw yourself into a postition that you don't like.

I dont give a damn, its no different than if you saw someone in a public place, like the mall or something.

I think it can be dangerous if you post yourself online, you never know now a days, someone could track you down just because of seeing your picture If you send your picture to one person, I guess it can also be dangerous, even more so if you give alittle bit about where you live, ect. Alot of people give their pictures to other people though.......I still think it can be dangerous, you can call me paranoid on this subject I guess.

Define "don't know."
My mother would claim that I "don't know" any of my online friends, even the ones I've known for a few years.

I think it can be dangerous if you post yourself online, you never know now a days, someone could track you down just because of seeing your picture Explain. There, I showed everyone here what I look like. Now, you pretend you're some dangerous online hacker/psycho guy and track me down. Hell, I'll even tell you I live in southern California. What are you going to do about it, huh? It's not THAT big of a deal to show your real picture. I just don't see why one would be against it, if all you have to do is just not participate. Easy as that. No need to butt in and say, "This is stupid!"

I have but one picture of me on the 'net, but it's two years old and there's nothing in it that could be used by a stalker to track me down. Not that it's exactly easy to find; I just give my friends the URL if they ask for a picture (and I want to show them). Really, unless you're holding up a piece of paper with your name and address on it, the only real danger you're in is of someone with a copy of Photoshop getting hold of your face, like they did here: www.searchbunny.com/why-you-never-put-your-picure-online/So basically... beware of having your face photoshopped into oblivion.

i didnt mean to start this! no one can track you down with your picture anyway, like other people said, its just like seeing people in public, public is no different from online. i didnt mean to start this, so someone can delete my picture topic if its bothering baby bowzer. i didnt mean to make anyone unconfertable, i just wanted to see who i was talking to people.

im just saying seeing someone online is like seeing someone in public. the chance of someone tracking you down in pubic is greater then online if you JUST give your picture, now can we please stop fighting about this, this is silly....
