I think this was asked in the past, but what's the best animation program that I can use? Just regular, 2-D animations, that's all. And I want a free one, too.

Well, I got a CyD GIF Animator from www.download.comIt's simple to use and it's a free trial. I can't remember, but I think the trial will be done after 20 uses or something like that.

Man, I've had worse luck with animation programs. I used to use the built-in GIF editor in Game Maker (http://www.cs.uu.nl/people/markov/gmaker/index.html), but when you save something as a GIF with that, it doesn't animate it more than once, and the background isn't transparent.
I'm currently using Flash MX to do that, but it's hard to work with just to make GIF files with. Not to mention that it's not free.
However, to avoid a useless post, I did a google search and came up with a whole bunch of shareware stuff... but I did find THIS: (http://www.free-software-downloads.org/graphics-software/animation.htm), which appears to be a list of free GIF animators. I haven't tried any of them, so I can't confirm their validity... sorry.

Do you want to draw in each frame first, and then animate? Or are you using pre-made images such as sprites?
If you are planning to draw your own frames, you can't beat Flash. (www.macromedia.com) I'm sure that you can download a trial version, that last for about a month.
Jasc Animation Shop is also a pretty good program, and it's what I like to use when it comes down to it. You'll have to do a search in Google for it though, because I can't remember the address. Like Flash, it's also by trail.
The last one that I know of is in Corel Painter. Yes, it does have an animation setting. I'd like to get stuck into my copy of it when I get the time. TRIPLE BONUS MULTIPLIER ! ! Painter's also a trail - 30 days, like the rest.

That's some help but still has a limit... I think Yoshata wants one free that is unlimited.

Yeah, unlimited is what I want. But thanks for the suggestions! And thanks for the link, Darkmark! ;D
EDIT: Sorry Darkmark, but all the progams in that list won't work on Windows LEVEL UP ! !, and the only one that can has a download link that leads me to a search page.

Ah, Sorry, Yoshata... better luck soon, I hope.
Graedius: The only program I have that converts to PNG format is RM2K(3). What about you?
