Board Constitution
Rules for users, guests, moderators, global moderators and administrators
1) Root admin - Timyoshi
The root admin is the most powerful member of the board, and is in charge of monitoring all moderators. He must communicate with them, and he also must check the board at least once a week.
The root admin:
a) Is the only person who can give out admin or moderator rights.
b) Can delete users if they break any rules.
c) Can move or arrange the forums freely.
d) Can remove moderators that don't follow the rules.
e) Can change the name of the board.
2) Global Moderator
Global moderators have almost as much power as the admin. If they abuse their power, they may lose their privileged position.
A global moderator's duties are:
a) To assist the root admin in maintaining the board and to make sure the admin is not out of line.
b) To help keep track of changes to the board layout.
This also applies to non-root admins.
3) Moderators
Moderators are in charge of helping to keep the board clean and making sure users don't break any rules. They should also try to be helpful to users (for example, answering questions). Moderators may be reduced to users if they abuse their power or stop visiting the board for 2 months or more. Only admins can pick new moderators. Constantly nagging the admins for a moderator position will result in making you ineligible.
Moderators should always ask a global moderator or an admin if they are unsure about whether to delete a suspicious topic or not. But they may delete posts that clearly violate the board's rules. Moderators that abuse their power and/or do not follow rules shall be turned back to regular users. Users may report moderator misconduct to the admin. Moderators only have one chance after being reported. Moderators have the power to delete bad topics, bad posts, and warn users, but they cannot delete users. However they can suggest the admin to delete a particular user.
The admins, moderators, and global moderators:
a) Are EXPECTED to enforce the board's rules throughout the entire board. This includes deleting any post, poll, signature, or thread that is in violation of the board's rules.
b) May not delete a user just because they don't like him/her.
c) May not delete polls or threads just because they don't like their topic.
d) Are encouraged to warn users that are about to break the rules.
4) Users
a) Post threads, polls, PMs, reply to messages and have fun
b) Any user that persistently breaks the rules will be banned.
5) Guests
a) Guests that persist in causing trouble on this board will be tracked via IP address and other info and will be traced back to their Internet Service Provider and reported for harassment.
Rules for all members:
1.- No obscene content: Anyone caught posting adult content on this board will be banned immediately. Also, no user may post multimedia rated over PG-13 (this includes artwork, flash videos, images, mpegs, etc.).
2.- NO SPAM: Posting 3 or more identical posts/threads is considered spamming.
3.- Respect other users: Don't post hurtful remarks (racial, physical or disrespectful). Everybody has the right to express their own opinion as long as it isn't directed to a person. Make friends with everyone, don't create isolated groups.
4.- Off-topic posts: Keep all off-topic stuff in Yoshi Cafe please.
5.- Role-playing: Please DO NOT role-play in topics that were not meant for this purpose! There are special areas of the board made specifically for role-playing.
6.- No insulting Yoshi: Now, this doesn't mean you can't say anything negative about him; You can state your opinions about him as long as you don't annoy other users with them. But if you are ever found clearly trying to annoy Yoshi fans, you will be banned.
7.- Pointless topics: Please try to keep pointless topics down to a minimum. For example, creating a post saying that you're back from a vacation is pointless IF you don't have anything to say about the things you saw or did. So try not to post things that are difficult to reply to.
8.- No cursing: You may not use complete curse words, but you may use the first letter. For example instead of the F word, use "F". Words that are neither obscene, racist or disgusting ( for example "hell" ) are allowed. Bypassing the board's censored word filter will be severely dealt with.
9.- Signature images: No signature may have a combined total of more than 150 pixels in height and 550 in width (including any text and images). Violating signatures will simply be removed without notice.
10.- Disturbing posts: You may not post threads with content that you know can upset some members. If you do you may be banned for several days.
11.- NO flooding: Posting 3 identical posts or more is considered flooding. If you caused a flood accidentally, be sure to delete the extra posts, otherwise the admins may take action on you.
12.- No bumping old topics: Please do NOT post on threads that haven't been touched in more than 4 weeks.
13.- Advertising: Advertising of competing forums within the body of a reply or thread is strictly prohibited, but it is allowed within a user's signature.
14.- NO virus warnings.- Do NOT create threads to warn board users of a new virus (Note that this is not exactly the same as creating a discussion about a new virus). Too many viruses are being discovered daily, so it's useless to scare people about just 1 of them.
15.- Alcoholic beverages and other addictive drugs.- It is forbidden to post artwork containing beer, cigarettes, or other drugs in the Yoshi art section. Threads or posts that violate this rule will be DELETED without notice.
16.- No double posting: If you want to add more to your previous post, please use the "edit" function instead.
