Another time of this year, people wear something green in order to protect them from getting pinched. Also, a tiny speck of green won't save you all from getting pinched anywhere on ya. Mostly it occurs down here where I live, but I don't remember the date when it starts. Necklace with green, you're safe. Green face painting, safe. Whichever green stuff you're wearing, you won't receive any pinch at all.

Oh yeah, tomorrow's St. Patrick's day, you could've just said that though Edward, you lost me at the vague explanation of it. It's called St. Patrick's Day, it's some Irish Holiday in which you have to wear something green.
Though, how many St. Patrick's Day threads do we have?

He's talking about some stupid kid's tradition on St. Patrick's day; if you're not wearing green, you get pinched and or punched in the arm.
So yeah, St. Patrick's day. Parades and green beer, yeaaah, great...

Around here, absolutely no one cares about St. Patrick's Day. But you know, that's my village for you. Just a small grease stain on a map. A boring and faded stain at that.
I think I heard one person mention this day in passing at school, and that was really the only reason I knew it was soon.

It's a bit noticable here in my own town. I do get that day off, but just by mere coincidence, so I'l happy with it.

It's prominent in Canada because we're all beer obsessed (except me) and thus it's a reason to justify drinking more.

I wish nobody cared about St. Patty's day, but I live in San Francisco, tallying higher on the alcohol-related death toll.
Screw that, I'm going someplace peaceful for the weekend.

St. Patricks Day has always been one of those holidays that just questions the run of things. It's just there, in its own little way, for others to get together and become intoxicated. While the Irish might love their alcohol, that doesn't mean everyone needs to upon those days. Of course though, when taken in small quantities there might be nothing wrong with that factor. The celebration of that day is just so diffrent, with the green colors and such. Of course, it has its own roots into what history was; yet going at it from any angle just makes it another, "Oh, so its that day?" kind of holiday. We celebrate it, though it might be better suited for something more Irish. Strange how we do that, celebrate in honor holidays that don't belong to our country. But, they are in respect to those cultures and how they have changed, for that they deserve their placement.
One can only drink so much though, you learn that on this day. Seeing people going out just to get to the point where they can no longer drive. Drinking may have its ups, but it seriously has its huge downs. It will always be a mysterious thing as to why we need a day to celebrate it. Though, Mardis Gras would be much worse in its own area. But, that is located in one location and therefore doesn't cause any harm but there. St. Patricks Day is just, sort of there, and sometimes you notice it and sometimes you don't. The worst part is the pinching draw, no one wants to get pinched, forget wearing green.

Wow Graedius, I'm pretty sure you got your mesage across quite clearly. I suppose it's upto one's own perspective whether or not this is a holiday with celebrating.

Nice one Graedius. ^^
Back when I was younger, people always hope that I won't wear Green(Minus the Hair & Eyes). I'm usually the target of getting pinched or punched for some reason, but I'm always wearing a Green Jacket, so I could never get hurt, sadly for Rob, since he only wears Yellow, Black, or Red. ^^; I had more people wanting to hurt me. I had a few things Green: Cards, Money, and MYSELF! Hello, Green Dragon! They was hoping I wasn't wearing green. What nimrods... I usually consider St. Patrick's Day a kind of bad holiday to me(The first is Valentine's), see everyone non-green always suffering, but not much of my problem, I guess.
