In a field miles away from any water there's a dead man in a wet suit. All the plants in the field are dead, as are the fish. What happened?

In a field miles away from any water there's a dead man in a wet suit. All the plants in the field are dead, as are the fish. What happened? duh, there was a fire in the field, so the government sent a helicopter that picked up a bunch of water from the ocean (there was a scuba-diver in that part of the ocean at the time) and dumped it on the field (thus killing the man they had picked up). (dude, no1 was gonna ever figure that out)

It grows rot and rots growth. What is it?
