I think Yoshi should appear more often too, but I also don't want him to overrun the Mario games either. You know, Yoshi hasn't had a single new Gamecube adventure game where he is the main star, or character! As for the poll, I like both Mario and Yoshi.

Hmm. I may contradict myself here, so I'll voice my thoughts...

I have always been a Yoshi fan, while I like 'some' mario games. I like to go back to the retro years and play the original Mario games. Still, I'm not a brilliant fan of mario. I don't have any Mario posters or other merchandise, yet I have sucessfully spent over 390 pound on Yoshi things. I get Mario games to play as Yoshi, I get bored playing as mario because mario's just too default now. That said, Without mario, Yoshi would have been a Pokemon (*Shudders*, prays to god it never comes true).

I would like to see Yoshi overtake Mario as the top bloke. I'd be incredibly impressed with it, still, there should always be Mario games because where I see mario, I imagine Yoshi being in it and playing a good part, and not being 'neglected' like in Super Mario World.

If people started talking about Yoshi, and how brilliant he is, Yoshi would have more titles, and in order for people to start talking about Yoshi being so great to happen, Big N would have to do some crazy thinking (Maybe a little teaming up with Paper Mario 2's developer, 'Intelligent Systems ltd', since they appear to be Yoshi fans themselves, and they made out the PM2 Yoshi to have a kick ass attitude), and advertising. The world needs more Yoshi. Yoshi will always be a part of a mario game. That's where Yoshi's recognised from, so we can't say goodbye to mario. While I dispise him when he's playing against me in all the games I have, I still think he should stick around. Keep Yoshi's roots around.

I just hope they don't do another Sunshine. This I hear about Yoshi 'dissappearing' the second he dehydrates/runs out of juice is silly. It hasn't ever happened before, why now? It'd be absurdly strange seeing someone dissappear the second they get dehydrated under the warm weather.

I think because of Mario being the so-called mascot for Nintendo, they have to make a lot of games that have him playing the star role, but really, you want someone else to take the glory, ever imagined Luigi kicking Bowser's ass instead of Mario? Or how about Yoshi running around kicking butt without the need for Mario to be on his back? Sure there is Super Mario DS, but they should allow us to make that happen more often...by all means keep Mario in games and give him some starring roles, but there should be more games with less Mario if you get my meaning...

i think yoshi is a better game character, but i dont think he should take over Mario.

Yeah, bingo. Still, I'd like to see if it's possible for Yoshi to take the limelight. He's got tons of support in the nintendo community forums...

I would especially like to see Yoshi become an inpossibly difficult character in the next ssb instead of being rather easy(I currently haven't played against Yoshi, just going by the opinions of other people). I won't go against Yoshi. I'm a Yoshi fan, doing that is like a religious person going against their religion. It's complete and utter crazy.

I totally agree to that! I have NEVER faced-off against Yoshi...unless i have to in SSBM on the Story levels etc.

I think the line that Nintendo gave is that is was a different "species" of Yoshi, or something.

Same as you have the ones on Dinosaur Island, Yoshi's Island, Delfino, and so on.

I like Yoshi a lot, but I like Mario too. I don't think that Yoshi should be a star all by himself all the time like Mario, but I do think Yoshi should get a lot more credit than he's getting now.

I tend to see Mario and Yoshi as an unbeatable team. In SMW I ALWAYS have Yoshi then I'm unbeatable, but when I don't have him with me things are a lot more difficult and boring. I wasn't really impressed with Yoshi's Story. Although it was a game starring Yoshi (which was cool! ), I thought they made Yoshi way too cute-sy and he should have kicked a lot more @$$.

;DI think they should make a new game starring Yoshi. I also think that Mario should remain the mascot, but this thing about giveing Yoshi the status of some lame power up for Mario like a mushroom is stupid. Yoshi deserves some respect!
