Heh, to think I was once again guessing when the characters do seem to have nearly the exact relationship... wow.
---------------------------------
"So... shall we fight?" Demon asked. The others held their own weapons, at the ready.
"Do you have any idea who you're messing with?" Lava asked.
"I know exactly who you are." Demon stated. "We have spoken for too long. Now we will fight!"
With that, Demon held his own weapon ready to strike.
"So... what are we supposed to do?" the other seniors asked.
"Keep still and quiet! I can't afford to have fools like you ruin my plan." Demon snapped. He turned back toward the others, though he kept his eyes on Leoshi, whom held the book.
Out of nowhere, Demon held the kunei knife and gave it a swish in the air. The others shielded themselves, expecting to be hit. But the fake plan had worked.
Catching them of guard, Demon threw the knife in the air. It's target was Leoshi.
Leoshi ducked to avoid the knife. It came to a crash in the concrete wall, becoming stuck. His attention quickly focused back on Demon.
Demon gave a laugh, then reached into his pockets. Suddenly, he had three more knives.
"What?" Lava asked.
Demon laughed and threw all three of the knives at once. Each one headed for three different people in the group: Yin, Yoshifrog, and Teo.
Yin held out her own knife, barely managing to block the attack. As it stopped in the air, she caught the knife, now holding two.
Teo dodged the knife flying in his direction. Now it found a new target. Lava growled and held his sword out to block the attack. Sparks flew as the two weapons came into contact.
Yoshifrog was frozen in fear as the weapon come closer and closer. She gave yelp in the last second she could think of.
Leoshi suddenly ran in the way. With the book in hand, he called out the only spell he knew:
"Shidome!"
The bubble that ensued shielded them both, as the knife bounced right off and into the floor.
Yoshifrog gasped as it ended. "...wow..."
Leoshi picked up the knife. "You can't defeat us with simple knives like that."
"I'm well aware of that, you fool!!!" Demon's voice shouted, but in a different direction then before.
Leoshi suddenly realized Demon was gone from where he once stood.
"That attack was a distraction! Where did he go?" Leoshi thought. He looked around himself, looking for Demon.
Suddenly, he heard the sound of something whizzing through the air.
"HUH?" He shouted, looking upward. Two more knives flew in the air toward him.
Leoshi held the book and called out again:
"Shidome!"
The shield appeared, protecting himself from the knives once more. The magic bubble then vanished again. Suddenly, he felt himself flying backward. His head slammed against the floor, the book flying out of his hand.
Leoshi struggled to get up, but felt himself pinned to the floor. He didn't see it, but a knife had pinned his shirt onto the floor, restraining him. The book, now out of his possession, rested on the floor, turned to a certain page.
"The book!" Yin, Lava, and Yoshi all shouted.
"...no." Yoshifrog said. She gave a gasp then rushed toward the book.
"I don't think so." Demon said. He threw yet another knife, that landed inches from Yoshifrog's feet. Startled, she came to a stop.
"That's enough!" Yapi shouted. She growled and held her fists together. Suddenly, strange wings appeared from her back.
"Hm?" Demon asked. "What's this?"
"You aren't the only tough one here, you know!" Yapi shouted. She took flight, and rushed Demon. Being startled himself, he was unable to defend himself and went flying backward toward the wall.
As he did, Lava reached Yoshee and Enrique. Yoshee gave a sigh of relief as Lava untied the rope. Enrique body fell on the floor.
"What's with him?" Lava asked.
"Knocked out. I can't wake him." Lava said.
"I'll try to do what I can!" Lava said. He grabbed Enrique and pulled him away from the battle.
Yoshee looked back toward Demon. "It's time for some payback!"
"...don't make me laugh." Demon said. "Look at yourself. Among this group, you are one of the weakest of these fools."
Yoshee looked enraged. "Take that back before I-"
"Before you what? You have no magic, no weapons... what can you do?" Demon asked.
Yapi suddenly flew back into the picture. She gave a battle cry and charged right at Demon again.
Demon, being prepared this time, held a knife out to defend himself. Yapi came to a stop and landed on the ground.
"How many of those do you have?" Lava asked.
"This is enough!" Leoshi shouted. The others looked toward him. He had freed himself, now holding the book. Beside him was Yin.
"You still dare to rise?" Demon asked.
"I do... and I have a plan as well." Leoshi said.
"Oh, a plan?" Demon said sarcastically. "I am shuddering."
"You will be." Leoshi said.
"In the meantime though..." Teo said, interrupting them. Demon looked up and saw Teo transform into his dragon form. The menacing creature now holding Demon at his mercy.
"Are you trying to intimidate me?" Demon asked.
The dragon roared and snapped it's tail at Demon like a whip.
Demon gave a smirk. He held out his right hand and simply caught the end of Teo's tail. Everyone gasped.
As if he where holding nothing, Demon swung hard, the entire dragon swinging in the air. Demon laughed and threw Teo, whom collided into a wall.
"Face it." Demon said. "I have you greatly out-powered."
"You think so." Leoshi said. He held the book in his right hand, extending his left.
"You see, with that distraction, Yin and I had a chat. She helped me decipher more of the book. So... I can attack with new ability!" Leo finished.
Demon gasped. "NO!"
"Yes!" Leoshi shouted. "Take this!"
He clutched the book in his hand tightly.
"Ze-Shidome!"
Suddenly, from his left hand came a bright glow. The same bubble appeared, but now it was in-front of him instead of surrounding him.
Leoshi suddenly pushed his left hand, aiming directly at Demon. The sphere of energy, reacting to his movements, shot off right to wards Demon. He gave a loud scream...
---------------------------------------------
John looked down on the city streets. He was still being carried by Moshi in the air as they flew back toward the school.
"...Moshi." John said.
Moshi looked down at him. "What?"
"I have to ask. Why re you interested in getting that book?" John asked.
Moshi growled. "I could let you go, and you'll fall to your doom at any moment."
"But you won't, will you? Why?" John asked.
"I'm not through with you!" Moshi shouted.
Suddenly, they saw an explosion in the distance.
"Whoa!" John shouted.
The glowing light of the explosion reflecting in Moshi's glaring eyes. "It's the energy of the book." she thought.
From the place came a huge figure. It looked like a dragon.
"That must be them." Moshi stated. John nodded, making sure it was them.
The dragon flew beside them. Riding on top was Leoshi, Lava, Yin, Yoshifrog, Yapi, Enrique and Yoshee.
"What happened?" Moshi asked.
"There's no time to explain." Leoshi said. "But we must leave."
Enrique, who was slowly coming to, nodded in agreement. "I need to go back to the dorm and rest."
"No, we aren't coming back." Yin said.
"What?" Yoshifrog asked.
"This city is no longer safe." Yin stated. "We must leave this place."
"And go where?" Lava asked.
"It doesn't matter. Though I hate to admit it, Yin is right. We must leave now." Moshi said, though with a bit of resentment in her tone.
"...I'm going to miss this place." Yoshifrog said.
"Me too, but we have no choice." Yoshee said.
"Then we should go." Yapi said. "Teo?"
The dragon tilted it's head.
"Let's move before we're spotted." Yapi said.
The dragon gave our a roar, then flapped it's mighty wings. Just like that, they where off, flying into the skies ahead, with no idea what would come in store next...
------------------------------------
That's pretty much how things would come to a close in the fic's first arc... I felt a need for a change of scenery, so as the next arc rolls in, I'm going to add new places, people, and twists in the story. Expect things to get pretty interesting from here on out.
