I got these from db.gamefaqs.com/console/n64/file/yoshis_story_a.txt, just in case you're interested. "PURPLE YOSHI: Collect all the coins from every level. BLACK YOSHI LOCATIONS: LEVEL 2-1 When approaching Miss Warp 4 from right, go left, eat flower, and shoot to the very top. LEVEL 2-3 Go through the level until finding the Help Box that offers hints about a "big egg". Go to the left from this location and jump on the last floating rock. Then, jump on the floating rock above that, and shoot the "?" bubble with an egg to receive the black egg. Complete the level for the black Yoshi. LEVEL 2-4 All the way to the right in the vine room. WHITE YOSHI LOCATIONS: LEVEL 3-2 In leaf room, drop to bottom at the very beginning for the egg. LEVEL 3-3 After Miss Warp 3, go to the top vases. Enter the tall red pipe to find it. Note: you must beat Cloudjin at the end of the level without losing Yoshi."

Mostly I just find the 2 rare yoshis in 2 following stage, the easy way:
For Black Yoshi: 2-4 All the way at the end of the swing vines.
For White Yoshi: 3-2 That stage in leaf room.

dont try to hurt your brain too hard now frog...
speaking of yoshis story, i cant wait for yoshis universal gravitation. i hear its gona have one of those sensor thingys, like kirby tilt and tumble. lol, i played kirby on my sp, and it was very screwed. since the game was backwords, the sensor alignment was messed up.

There's probably some GameShark code to get the Purple Yoshi with almost no hassle...

No!! Don't use a game shark! Game sharks are evil and can mess up your game!

I would agree on Rainbow Yoshi, I don't trust game sharks at all. It's like hacking into a game and mess around the sequence in it. Just as I was going for Super Smash Bros. to get Metal Mario, but decided not to. So I'm backing off Game Sharks.

Ah, but I have the ROM, so I'm probably safe.
You only really need to worry about GameSharks if you pull the cartridge out with the power still on. Then the hex-editing might become permanent.

um sorry doc... Ah, but I have the ROM, so I'm probably safe. You only really need to worry about GameSharks if you pull the cartridge out with the power still on. Then the hex-editing might become permanent. even if that was the case, i still dont trust game sharks. the hex editing sometimes does become permanet even if you dont pull it out with the power still on, and operate the game pack properly. gameshark/action replay has messed up a number of my games, and no, i followed the directions and there was nothing wrong with the game, nor the game "enhancer."

I've never used a Gameshark, and... I don't have hardly anything in my games, except by getting it the hard way. It really pays off, 'cause you know you did it yourself.

cheating devices can screw up your game. besides, you never beat a game if you used codes.

Once, my brother did something to my SSBM, and my high scores are all screwed up. I got a great score, then went back and did it again, and did horrible, and the scores said that new score was my best. But that's off the subject.

well, i mostly use codes that make the game harder,(stronger enemies, tiny mode,etc....)so i can really feel like i earned the reward.(yes, there are codes that make the game harder, just not many.in some cases,i had to experiment)
