OK, I'm getting a Playstation 2 in a while, don't worry, Nintendo is still #1 in my book. So I'm wondering, what games you think I should try out? So far, I got my eyes on Dragon Quest 8, is that a good choice? Post what you think. Just a note, I don't play sports(Except Extreme), or 1st Person Shooters.

Hmmm Good games for the PS2? There are many things I could say here. If you're into RPG's, the obvious title of course lies at your hands for the Playstation. Then there is the series known as .Hack// which is also great. I love how each one connects with the last and uses the levels you got to. There are four in the series, and two nifty animes based off the game as well. It's well worth a try. As well, in the basis of games where you raise yourself, take a look into Indigo Prophecy. Creepy game where every choice you make has its own consequence later in the game. If you like a twist of mystery make sure to try that title out. Don't leave out the Silent Hill Series either. Those also go into the Horror/Survival Genre. Even if you don't usually go into those, they are worth the try. The story behind them is captivating and gets deeper and deeper with each one. Start with 2 and work up, the story to 1 is more less explained in 3. In total there are four within the series.
Going into action I would say to try your hand at some of the Devil May Cry games. Sadly these games have a big focus into the repeating moves and scenarios. But, the first play through if you haven't tried it before is fun. Afterwards things sort of start to replay themselves. There are three in the series, skip two because it was more than just a failure. The first was of course the best and the third made up a bit for the abomination that the second one turned out to be. Hmmm... other good games for the PS2 are wide and many. I reccomend looking up some reviews online for new games coming out. One bad thing about this system is the fact that there is more quantity than quality in full. Oh yeah, one thing people seem to like on this system is GTA. Sadly this game is easily shown up as old, and eventually it turns out to just be one of those games that people hate because of whats in it. At times it can be interesting, but it's also a game that many parents are bound to be against.
If you like Platformers, then Jak 2 was a nice game for what it was. It took a new step into a genre with third person shooters, and yet it kept things tied to a platformer basic with the jumping and puzzles that it had throughout it. Lately they have kept coming out with more and more to add onto the series. Eventually these things get old when they put in to much, regardless though the first two were the best. Take a look at those if you want to see what the system offers platform wise. There is also many other choices you can dig into. From the Resident Evil Series to add to the horror, and also diffrent games that go along with music. One of my favorite on the system was indeed Amplitude which had you match beats with the songs at hand. It was an interesting play for the time, but it quickly goes by if you're one to play all day.
Heck, to tell you the truth I've been sitting here trying to remember the games I have in my PS2 collection and all I can say is on this note. The PS2 nearly has some game that will match something you like. I mean heck, they have a game nearly for everything. The only issue with that is the fact that the "level of enjoyment and satisfaction" of the game is usually at a low. Stick to the original titles they come out with, stick with the long titles. You know, titles that have sequels. That usually means that they somehow have a good point in them. Don't be afraid to try some new ones as well. But when it comes to the PS2, everything exist in some small way.

Thanks Contention, I might give some of those a shot. Oh, and I forgot to mention, If it's Rated Mature, I might not try it, I'm not used to them yet since I never touched that kind of game before. Oh, and you can also tell me some of the old Playstation Games that are still good.
Here's what I might try: 1. God of War(I like the game, even though it's rated M.) 2. The Ratchet & Clank Series(Which one is Good?) 3. Spyro 1 - 3 (Playstation) 4. Final Fantasy(Please tell me the good ones.) 5. Dragon Quest 8 6. The Jak & Daxter Series (Possibly...) 7. The Panzer Dragoon Series(Which ones?) 8. Burnout Revenge
What do you think? Anything wrong with those games above? And if you have any other games, go ahead and tell.

Oh Goodness! Dear me sorry about the Wildfire! Yes the games you listed I should have somehow mentioned. Yes, those games are awesome. I would try them out if you like those type of things. If thats the field you enjoy your games in, give those a shot most definetly. As for the Rachet and Clank series, stick to the first one and the second. The farther things go down the line the more they add and the odder it gets. I would skip around. Try number one and then switch to the end, if I can recall I don't think the game follows any one story. So you can try number one and switch to the newest for a whole new story thats diffrent. That way you don't lose any valuable information. Though things might have changed, but I don't think they have as of now.
Burnout was fun just in the fact that you could cause major carnage. Forget about racing, sometimes its just fun to cause collisons. Oooh, I can't wait for my liscence. XD, but seriously though, the game is fun and overly exciting. Especially when cause out of nowhere accidents. You'll favor that if you love some fun. And go ahead with God of War, even if it is M, it is suitable. Silent Hill is also M, but in a sense that it has taste. It all depends upon how high your fear goes and how easy things can disturb you. Usually pictures and videos from a game can easily show that for you. God Of War is more less a Mimic of the same original system from Devil May Cry sadly. Try both of them out to see which one holds your taste more.

Armored Core 3. Third person perspective. You build your own "AC," which is basically a giant robot, and take contracts to perform missions for Corporations. Like blow stuff up.

I'm sorry, Iactually liked Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. TRIPLE BONUS MULTIPLIER ! !; I guess because of the rediculous freedom, hahah... Soul Calibur III is excellent. As is Dragonball Z Budokai III, if you tolerate the series.

Yeah, I wanted to play GTA: San Andreas badly when it came out, but when I heard about the Hot-Coffee, well, that went down the drain quick...(You heard about it?) Soul Calibur 3? I heard that's good, but when I tried to play it for the Gamecube, I could hardly ever get most of the combos right...(I only did 3 with Link, and 1 with some other guy I forgot...) Dragonball Z, yeah, 1 & 2 weren't the best, but 3 and that new one(Can't spell it.), was excellent, heck if you watch G4 Tech TV, on X-Play, they don't like Dragonball Z at all, but they gave Budokai 3 a 4/5. Kingdom Hearts? Well, I was going to play it, but had second thoughts, but hey, if I have time...I'll try it.

well! if you arent annoyed by a lot of repetitiveness in a game, then Dynasty Warriors is one i suggest.
and even know it looks stupid and sounds strange, We *heart* Katamari is a REALLY ADDICTING GAME! XD. I could be on that for hours.
Final Fantasy started going down the drain after FF9 but i am still a highly noble fan XD.
Kingdom Hearts, gosh I loved that game!
Soul Calibur III! IS A MUST!
Star Wars Battlefront II! (only if you have online capability)

Xenosaga. I myself just got the first one, and if you like the Final Fantasy type games, you'll most likely like these as well. I'm not sure how many there are in the series as of yet, but I know there are at least two. Also, all the Ratchet and Clanks were great fun -- as a matter of fact, the farther into the sequels you went, teh more fun tehy got. Jak And Daxter is good -- the third I liked the most, mainly for the variety of guns. Drakengard is also a good game -- I figure some people don't like it because it's mainly "chop chop kill kill" but it's fun. Dragon goes boom. Kingdom Hearts was one of the most fun games I've ever played. I highly reccomend it. If I think of anymore, I'll be sure to let you know.

You're telling me you didn't play it because you heard about a sad-looking hack-mod in the game that you could never ever come across unless you knew exactly what you doing and knew exactly where to tweak the coding, and thus were trying to find it on purpose?

Not exactly... The thing is that, well, my mom is kind of strict on Coarse Language. My mom got on me for watching this commerical for the Boondocks on Adult Swim, it said the B-Word, and mom doesn't like it. So...the language is the main thing.(I don't get why...)

There's is also some material in San Andreas, which gave it an AO rating... It wasn't AO before Jack Thompson had a hernia on it because of the impossible-to-come-across-unless-you're-purposely-trying Hot-Coffe Mod. However yes, the language is pretty intense, so.

Yes, it turns you into losers who argue subtley in their signature banners!
No, but seriously, it's a really fun MMORPG if you can tolerate MMORPGs and pay a monthly fee. Trust me, it's worth it... I always said I'd never play a game like that that I had to pay for per month -- but here I am.
