I just got this new game, Yoshi Topsy-Turvy. Does anybody else have it yet?
If you don't allready know, it has a tilt sensor for more interesting gameplay. The storyline is pretty lame in my opinion: The Great Book spirit named Hongo sees that Bowser is wrecking stuff again so he decides to trap Bowser inside...what else? a book! anyhow, Hongo accidentally traps Yoshi Island in the book (Bowser was terrorizing the island) now Yoshi is pissed because the island and Bowser are trapped in a story book, but wait! thats not all. A spirit (who is also in the book) tells Yoshi that he has to defeat Bowser so Hongo will let the island out of the book. Now, I haven't beaten the game yet cause I just got it today, so lucky for you...I won't tell the ending but you can assume that Bowser gets beat by Yoshi.
Currently I'm on chapter 4 of 6 and I've played for about an hour; in each world there are an X number of levels, but in order to proceed to the next chapter you need to please the spirit who protects the chapter by getting a certain amount of "happiness medals", to get one you have to complete a goal on a level. The goals are simple things like: collect 40 coins or beat the level in 60 seconds. To help you along the way, Yoshi can transform like in SMW:YI there are 3 transformations Super Ball, Ship, and Balloon.
My opinion? The game is too easy; it may even be easier than Yoshi's Story and Yoshi has only 2 moves: eat and jump, that's right...no egging stuff or ground pounding.
Now that I'm done, are there any questions, rants, complaints, complements, or other self reviews?

Jeez, it's too bad, I guess Nintendo can't always pitch a no-hitter. Just like mario pinball, which sucked in my opinion. And to think I was gonna get it. Thank you for saving me thirty bucks.

Don't get me wrong here, the game is still pretty fun. It's just not for the gamer who wants a good challenge with strategic boss fights.

is it only tilting, or can you press like a and b buttions?

The tilting is about half of the controls for the game, you still need to use A and B for the two moves the Yoshi can still do, and the control pad is used for running.

I got it 2 days ago and played it for like 6 levels. I was really dissappointed when I noticed that Yoshi can't lay/throw eggs nor pound the ground. The game is VERY simple in my opinion, perhaps too simple. I can't imagine how a non-Yoshi fan could ever enjoy it (I still enjoy it a little because I adore seeing the Yo'ster). And you can only tilt the world like 90 degrees (45° to each side), and you can't make things spin 360°. And as far as I've played there are very few enemies and are very easily killed. And when Yoshi eats an enemy, instead of just swallowing it to oblivion, it comes out his rear like a fart. T_T Way to go, Nintendo...
And that hongo guy, his name means mushroom in Spanish.

Is it possibly the Universal Gravitation thingy? I wager it IS. 'Sides, they have an amazing tilting feature, so it's no wonder Yoshi's skills are limited.

Well, that Yoshi's Universal Gravitation is the typical game for young people, I think Nintendo wanted to do something what can be enjoyable by 5-6 aged children, too (I think they didn't think about that every young one wants to play with games like GTA: San Andreas... :P). It is not really a bad thing, if you don't count upon that game is a very complex, "harder-than-MGS-in-european-extreme-mode" before you play with it...
Yoshi is an adorable character - you can dislike Mario, Link or Samus - but dislike a Yoshi? (I tell you, you can't xD) So Yoshi is a perfect main character in a game what everybody can play, 1-99, even if there are die-hard Yoshi fanatics who want to play extreme, huge Yoshi adventures on all Nintendo systems =)
I think the game's difficulty is enough - not for me, but for the age-group what the game designed for. I remember for that, when I was 6, I played a week with Super Mario Bros (NES) when I finally reached world 8 - but not need to say: I lost my all chaches of continue in 8 -1, hehe... of course, now I play out that game with my one hand, so I totally don't blame Nintendo for that they want to create games for everyone.
Hehe... that reminds me for that, Gomba (with one "o") means mushroom in Hungarian - and I'm sure you all heard about the incredible "Goomba" in Bowser's army. Might Nintendo take the enemies' names from different languages? xD

I just got this game and it is simple but it fun in my opinion. I just love the little egglings! ;D And no Lava I think you're talking about the one that you need the stylus on the DS this one you need to tilt your game. (Unless Yoshi Universal Gravitation is another name for it)

*Ladies and gentlemen, Lava's back on his feet! But not Luigi. * I doubt UG was on the DS. I saw the review. It was for GBA. What I was SAYING is...Is Topsy-Turvy the American name for Universal Gravitation?

Ah, yes. I've played this game. Nice and simple, really. Which I happen to see as a good thing - you won't get frustrated here. Not at all. The game's pretty calm, but fun. You won't find a challenge here. Maybe except on the later levels, when you are given two objectives at once and want to get a gold medal on it.
I bet Nintendo was trying an idea, so at least I won't rant about it. I did facefault when I noticed there was no egg throwing, but I think it's best that way - aiming would be very hard with the tilt function already in tow. As for the names, Yoshi's Universal Gravitation was the name for the european version of this game. I wonder what its differences are?
