... played a 2-player game by yourself, just because you were THAT bored?
I have. Several times. ._. Kirby's Dream Course being the most prominent memory...
I wonder if it's a sign that I'm horribly lonely XD Has anybody else done this? Share your stories!

Bahaha, Kiryb's Dream Course was the best for that. I usually spent the time having them bash each other with their powers.
Although I do remember using the Tornado power on the yellow one. It flew up in the air, landed on a spike strip, spike strip, spike strip, spike strip, then flew off the cliff. Full health to Zero in one round. How glorious.

Hey, you're not alone. I used to do this all the time in Halo when times got lonely down stairs. I would just randomly start a map and run around shooting at things. I don't know why, but I just did it because I felt like it. Or that, and sometimes you need to complete "Co Op" Mode to get some special goodies, so I'd just go through with one guy and have the other walk through after I got to end of the level with the solo player. Besides that, I just like shooting myself and doing little dances on heads. Heck, I'll even do that when I'm in normal multiplayer with someone else online. But being alone is all the sweeter, because it gives you time to notice things and try stuff out.

I play Monopoly by myself sometimes. With as many as 4 "people."

I play Super Smash bros. by myself sometimes. I think Godzilla and Starfox 64 were the most common, though. It was fun trying to shoot at the Arwings when nobody controlled them... XD

I probably did something like that at one point, but I don't exactly recall. However, I do remember playing Double Dash, with both "me" being in the kart. I was driving while my feet was doing all the smashing and item handling. If mastered, I think that's actually a lot more efficient and effective than playing single player.

TRIPLE BONUS MULTIPLIER ! !;; I'd waste my time doing stupid crap like landing on a player right by an edge, as a rock, and have him toss me aside, off the ledge. TRIPLE BONUS MULTIPLIER ! !

I remember putting both of the Kirbies in this one level where there was a large depression and then a wind blower thingy on the ground. I'd put them both in it, then let one go and watch them bounce around in the hole, smacking each other around a bunch of times until I got bored. Kirby Pinball! Another time I discovered this really weird glitch. I don't remember exactly how I did it but I put one of the Kirbies on the very corner edge of a level, and did something, I don't remember what it's been so long XD But when it was all said and done, you could make the Kirby float over the abyss and roll around on air. If you tried to make a jump shot though and landed back into the abyss, you fell, and it'd replace you back on air again. Gah... I have to play that again and find out how I did that.

I did have another human character active in SSBM, but only to leave on overnight so I could get Mewtwo in the morning. ...And in Katamari Damacy, so I could try out the Triangle Button trick. ...And I trade between Colosseum and my GBA Pokémon games.

I remember playing Street Fighter 2 on 2-player by myself a few weeks ago so I could try and learn the character's moves again, on ZSNES. I got a controller that hooks into the USB port of my computer so I had to reconfigure the controls and everything, instead of using the keyboard to play XD
By the way, Ryu totally owns you. HADOOKEN! *fireball*
