The eighth grade,
nothing special.
Same days,
same schedules.
Boring lives,
boring times.
It’s all been the same from first to last,
Nothing unique to remember the past.
A single memory, that’s all I ask,
Hand me one and I’ll drink from this flask.
No, not the flask of alcohol,
Nor the bev’rage of liquor.
What I’ll drink is nice as a dove,
For you see, the Ale of Love.
Peace on Earth,
Goodwill to Men.
Now is the time I will pretend,
Pretend for you, pretend for me.
Pretend for everything I wish I could be.
Take my hand, I beg you please,
Don’t leave me here in darkness’s eve.
I’ve been alone for far too long,
I think it’s time I sing this song.
No longer will I stay so quiet,
No longer will I be silent.
I’ll raise my voice up, high, out-loud,
Cry “I love you!” to the crowd.
The eighth grade,
Oh it holds something special.
The same days,
They’re turned helpful.
The boring lives and boring times,
They’re quite exciting, they feel sublime.
That one little difference,
Oh how it feels.
It changes you,
Shapes you,
It makes you squeal.
That one little difference,
What is it, you ask?
Oh my, it’s love,
And that is its task.
I return to you with this poem.
No, I don't think it's that bad, like my last ones. I've improved a lot, if I don't say so myself.
I particularly like this one, and I don't even know why. But I like it, haha.
The flow of it, the rhymes I was able to come up with... It made to form this, which, as I stated, I... simply love!
In honor of Valentine's Day, I would suppose. Haha.
Enjoy!
