I though that movie was the sex, I loved the ending a lot. If you look closely at Clouds' head you can see some strands of hair all over. I give this movie a 10 out of 10.

I have yet to see the English version. But I loved the japanese one. I'm kinda afraid that I'll hate the English version. I heard voice acting was sub par.

I saw both versions and I must say, they both are....FRIGGIN AWESOME! Oh man, I LOVED it XD. I thought they did pretty good for the voice acting, not the best, but I still loved it.

Too bad everyone in the world who really wanted to see it saw it like half a year ago via quesitonable means. ;3 However, I was not one of them, so I saw it yesterday. It was neat, but pretty hard to follow, I thought. I think they made the characters a bit rediculously skilled, hahah, with fight scenes a little bitto intircate to even tell what the hell was going on. all in all, it was pretty great, and certainly a better homage to the series than that awful Final Fantasy: Spirits Within ( www.imdb.com/title/tt0173840/) whose only relation at all to the series was the presence of a guy named Cid -- however it wasn't even spelled right. In that movie they spelled it Sid.

Lol, I had never play FFVII. I tried my hardest and finally, after watching it twice, I understood it. I give kudos to Square for having the best graphics around. ;D

I remember Spirits Within. I was waiting for some reference to Final Fantasy. Besides the girl sacrificing. <_<;; It nevar happened. D: Oh wells. I thought the people were real for a while. I kept debating, "Okay that's real wait wait..it's fake. No it's real! Oh wait.. >_<;;" Crappy plot though.

Horrible Godawful waste-of-time plot. They just tagged "Final Fantasy" on for money, I'm sure, since it had NOTHING AT ALL to do with the series.

...So... Would you recommend this movie to a guy who played some of the games, liked 'em, but isn't really that into it? Or is this more of a specific target film?

I barely understood what was going on, and I've played a bit of the game and most of the rest of the series. (Although each consecutive game has no continuity to the last and next, minus a lot of similar gameplay aspects. I do not count that godawful FFX-2 in the numbered series.)

It's the best animation movie in existence. Much better than those idiotic comedy/animation movies that appears every year.
It has the better graphics, the best fights... The only flaw is the fact that you have to play FFVII to understand the whole plot.
I never played the game, but i could understand, since i've read the game's history in Wikipedia ;D

Well, y'know, if you own the DVD or even rented it, it's got a special feature on it called "Reminiscence of Final Fantasy VII" or something like that. It goes over the -entire- basic storyline of the game, and perhaps even a bit more. The movie was pretty spiffy, though. I loved it. And, yeah. I understood it all 'cause I beat down FF VII like a dog. Brought down the Final Boss with one attack... >.>

Hey man, chill...let Graedius state his opinion about FF:SW.
I bought it about a week ago, and really liked it. The graphics were way too good. I did like the detail, especially in Cloud's hair, since it looks like it always defies gravity in FF7. It was kind of shock that he had more than one sword, I thought he might use his original one...but I guess not. Those Shadow Creepers were cool, but also scary at times, but Cloud was cool with those Motorcycles, kicking tail. I want one like his...
I do have to say, the thing that freaked me out the most was Bahamut SIN. I mean, I've seen most of the different versions of Bahamut, but that thing was ugly....and scary as heck. I'm surprised Denzel had the courage to run up to him calling him a "Son of a...."(You know), because I wouldn't have to courage to say that to either versions of Bahamut...okay....maybe, only if I got ticked off at him. The Mega Flare was odd, I know Mega Flare is a long stream of thermonuclear(Wikipedia said that) energy, but this was one big ball of energy, which did not make any since, but if I'm correct, and hopefully I am...this Bahamut was created out of a Negative lifestream so this was Bahamut but a negative version.
The battle were really good, even though it defied the laws of physics(I think that it was called), especially Tifa. The battle scenes were awesome especially on the road. The camera angels were cool to see, since some of them couldn't happened in real life. Anyway, I might watch the movie again tonight. Oh, and one thing, did anyone find it odd that Cath Sith was riding Red XIII? I did, even though I never played Final Fantasy 7.
Oh, and Teh Stormtrooper, if anyone says FF: SW sucks, let them. I think it sucked, and trust me, I know a lot on Final Fantasy.

im not bashing people im just saying that what he said made no bearing at all....he siad that FF: SW had nothing to do with FF...i was only statingit on that fact. P.S. cloud locked the evil in the buster sword (the one that kadaj knocked down on the hill at the beggining) and he now uses the 7 sword....1 sword with 7 pieces...its creepy uber! XD Um.... My statement had a huge amount of bearing, actually. You're the one who doesn't have a shred of an idea what you're talking about. I was relating this movie least of all to Final Fantasy 7 -- I'll have you know I've played every single Final Fantasy of the numbered series they've released in Japan and America, and so I'm sure I know more about what the series consists of than you do. Unlike most of the world seems to beleive, there were Final Fantasy games before Final Fantasy 7 -- and they were every drop as good as it could ever wish to be. Tell me, if you think you know sdo much, just how many incredible similarities there are between Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, and FF7/FF9, hmm? Just what about them is the same whatsoever? Don't you dare go on about how they'ere both in futuristic ages -- because they're not. The FF:SW time and age is like some futuristic space-colony age, which is way beyond that of FF& and moreso FF9, and even moreso that of the ages of every Final Fantasy game before then, who were almost entirely medieval. Every Final Fantasy game has had magic of some sort, be it arcane and secretive or commonplace and not spectacular -- they've all had summons, magical beasts, hell, Melee weapons of some sort whatsoever... Face it. the only similarity that Final Fantasy: the Spirits Within has with the series of games is that there was a Cid (As in every Final Fantasy game of the numbered series, there is a signifigant Cid), and his name was spelt "Sid", so that similarity is even only an allusion and nothing more. In all truth they tagged the name "Final Fantasy" onto their little 3D movie so people would go buy it in hopes of seeing something worth the $20 for the DVD -- but were sadly mistaken by the joke they got instead.
