POINTLESS, RPG VERSION ONE is closed at the moment. the reason for this is to make the game more smother. however, this thread is still open for conversation.
the reasons pointless was shut down: ~game rules not followed ~strict limitations ~discussion of rules between game staff to make game smooter
the re-opening game date is currently unknown. i will post that here when the game will be re-opened.

i thought one rule was to strict- and that was that a starting didn't know what a spell book was- i think they would know especialy if the book has a cover that says "spell book"

sorry for double posting but can you make things that would not normally require tools without using tools?
|
|
|
Post by Gene L.D. Ryoko on Apr 1, 2005 11:00:28 GMT -5
yes,but it takes longer, note: tools are not, axes, chain saws,or mallets. they are just tools. you can only use them on houses or other things you build(shop, misc. place, school of sorts) as for the second one, anyone at day 1, can't learn spells. so you can't know it's a spell book,it's a strange book, with weird writing inside

but still you know it's a spell book although i agree you might not know how to use it.

That I'll accept. It's a spell book that you're going to have to translate...but there are no translators in the pointless RP yet.
And I really don't see how to TRAIN it...if learning a foreign language gave so-called translation LEVEL UP ! !, you'd learn how to read ancient languages when you never were taught!

maybe you should just drop the whole spell book idea and enstead have a magic shop were you learn or "buy" spells.

yes, that could work. there will be a new rules section when version two comes out.

Yes, such as the might not be anymore non-player shops. So we can't randomly buy a toolkit off someone in town. We'd have to find a player who is selling it.

...and the player who is selling it either bought it off one of the staff who stocks in those types of items, or from the staf member him (her) self.

Or that someone managed to make, along with the fact you can't make toolkits on your first try...I'm sure trying to make metal tools without anywhere to start would be kind of difficult.

actually, i think it would be alot easier to say that you need to go to the blacksmith with the right materials to make your own tools.
rules for finding stuff from certain monsters will also be displayed.
if you go mining in a cave, or somthing like that, there will be lists of what you can and cannot find as you are mining.
