I walked around the corner to face the other voices. A Yoshi!? <Hey...> Champ waved. <Hey... hey... hey...> I slapped him. <Ow! Ow! Ow!> Charon rolled his eyes. "Umm... Hi." I held out my hand to the light blue Yoshi. At least, he looked light blue. I couldn't really tell in the darkness.

"Um... hello." It was another yoshi in front of me. I could tell by the voice it was a girl. She looked green; I think; it was quite dark; I couldn't see her that well. She held her hand out to me; I held mine out to hers in response.

OOC: Since everyone is "Sheltered" I'll just comence the nightly sequence...
A dark laugh rushed through the skies, and a brutal chill once again embraced everything. Flies who were attracted by dead meat had parts of them frozen and some even their intestines iced over. The meat preserved itself, not rotting in this dreadful cold. The voice searched every knook and cranny that was uncovered. The voice seemed to circle above the island, and soon you could get the impression of a spiral. The cold so unbearable, everything fell into a frightening sleep...the voice kept going on and on...not leaving quite yet...
EDIT: Since there's no double postages...
The voice suddenly fell more and more silent, as the cave that Yoshee and Enrique had fallen asleep in due to the islands nightly magic began to wake with little life...a few mice, some rats maybe, a snake, just about everything. Suddenly a HUGE light burst out from farther down the tunnel and passed through everything and lighting up the sky. Suddenly, the light became more bearable as the farthest part of this cave was revealed. There was a pool of pure water in front of what looked like steps. (OOC: You guys haven't drunken in days...) The altar had a single candle on it which seemed to flicker many colors...

"Hey, look! It's water." I stretched. Hey, when had I fallen asleep? <I don't think we should drink out of something that might be an altar...> <Who cares? We're thirsty.> Champ grabbed my hand and tried to help me up. <Hey, it's that light again!> He immediately lost interest in the altar and tried to find where the light was coming from.

I woke up to find water sit right before me, moaning as I was getting up. I was very thirsty. "Oh... Man, when did I fall asleep? I don't remember falling asleep last -... WATER!" The sight instantly woke me up.

I halfway crawled-walked to the water pool, cupped my hands, and took a drink of water. "Ah..." I sighed of relief. Finally, water...

I made sure the water wasn't poisened when the other Yoshi drank it. He looked okay... I dunked my head in. It tasted better than any water I ever had...

I woke up, still tired from the uncomfortable short sleep I had against the cave wall. I headed out of the cave and looked up through the tree cover above, the sun was up, but it was early morning it seemed. "I guess I have more daylight hours now to look for a way out of this place." I continued to walk through the forest, still no idea where I was headed, but confident I would find something...

I continued my walk through the forest, but soon my lack of sleep caught up and I had to stop. Luckily I was in a small clearing in which there was a rock with writing of some sort on it, I couldn't read it, but the rock was warm from the sun so I decided to lay on top of it and try to recollect what happened that caused me to end up on the island in the first place. I thought for a while, mostly about the cable, where it could have come from and what it had to do with me being on the island. "maybe I fell off a ship..." I thought out loud, my head started to hurt, as if I had been hit in the head, perhaps I had amnesia and can't remember what happened, but if there was a ship, there might be a search party out looking for me. My stomach growled, causing my attention to shift to a piece of fruit hanging on the tree above me, "breakfast" flashed in my mind...

"Mmm..." I pulled my head back above the surface, licking my chin. <Is there another one here?> Charon asked, looking down the hole.
Champ burst out of the hole to the cave, falling back down to the ground on his back. <Ouch! Hey, were did it go again!?>

(Well, night doesn't come tonight...so there's some time. I've been thinking of moving the space of 'nights.')
A monkey fell out of the tree (Boomeister) had been looking at the fruit. The monkey looked at the hungry yoshi with the banana in his hands. The monkey was not willing to give it up...not without a fight. And in fact, it was looking for one. Without warning, it bit.
FIGHT!!
These battles can come randomly, such as this. I'll try to avoid character control, but in your next post you have to either continue the battle or run. If night falls and the battle is not over, it's a forced run. Battle enemies are registered as weak, medium, or strong depending on YOU.
Known things about the monkey: This is a beginners target. Although aggressive, it is relatively weak compared to...other species.
(Weak enemy) The monkey starts the fight by biting (Boomeister) and hurting him, but no harm really done. What will (Boomeister) do?

ooc: I guess I forgot to mention what my character's name was...anyway it's Speccy, but call him whatever you want.
now then, let's see how this battle thing works.
IC:
Out of nowhere a monkey grabbed the fruit and then bit me, "If it's a fight you want then, it's a fight you'll get!" I ran up and tackled the monkey to the ground, trying to subdue it.
OOC: is that how the battles should go? this is the first one in this RPG.

Of course! There are no specific moves to do, you just fight, say how it reacts, say how you retaliate. This is a battle.

(God, that would consume 300 posts and take forever! NO I DON'T CONTROL HIM!! But he has to act...like a savage monkey. It's bigger enemies much later on I'll take a total grip on.)

OOC: OK, sorry, I've never done an RP quite like this one, and I'm a newb when it comes to RPs in general.
IC:
The monkey fought back by biting me on the nose so I kept my grip on it and began to shake it violently and then bashed it against a tree. This continued for a few minutes until I noticed the monkey wasn't fighting back, I dropped it on the ground, slightly disturbed that I had apparently killed it. I did feel better when I had realized my victory and promptly swallowed the banana whole.

"Quite tasty, isn't it?" I asked the other yoshi. The water tasted nearly perfect. I drank some more of it, little by little, but not the entire hole, maybe just a few cups.
