YES, I'm making an RP at long last! Here's the story...
~~~
At an excavation sight in Egypt, a new wonder was discovered... it was a tomb to the ancient god of all, Salarin, or in the ancient times, Queen Salarin. Her rule lasted over a thousand years, as her life-span never ceased. She would outlive all her slaves, tenants, brothers and sisters. Eventually she grew tired and was said to pass on to the next realm (according to research), but in the tomb, archaeologists found no trap. Instead, they found a stone wall as they entered. Perplexed as to how a wall was voluntarily made by slaves, the wall was broken and the tomb revealed to be filled with scarabs. The archaeologists, being expecant, escaped while the scarabs wandered around, going deeper into the tombs or finding shelter. The tomb was fumigated and the explorers went in, heavily equipped.
Three miles, twenty spike traps, three crushing stone blocks, a poisonous gas, two wrong turns, and a giant granite ball later, they found an open area with impressive staircases suspended in the air. As the archaeologists tried the stairs, they were found sturdy, although their architechture would never have held the test of time. As they reached the top of the stairs, they were brought into a hanging platform where a mummy case lay. The case was opened and a mummy was found of a young woman, appearing to have not aged or rotten over the years her body was supposed to decay. There were also no organ jars in sight as it was normal for egyptians to extract body parts and seal them in jars. The archaeologists took the mummy out of the tomb (with difficulty) and had the case sent back to a museum.
At the museum, one archeologist, Donald Frank, claims to have found a strange treasure on the mummy he had not noticed before. Without alerting his colleages, he reached for the top of the mummy case and pushed its forehead. The crown on the decorated case popped up from its place and was examined. The crown, despite first impressions, was actually a black stone covered in liquid gold, which was placed onto the crown after its making. The only visible parts of the black stone were at the very base of the crown forming a ring and at the top. However, as these people were jumping in joy, the press came to inspect the 'intact' mummy. The 'intact' mummy, was no more than any other poor victim of first aid. Old, crippled, rotten, and moldy. The crown was put on display, but was stolen about five years ago from the Louvre in France. A mysterious merchant donated it to a Museum in San Francisco three years ago and stolen a month later, and then it re-appeared in a gift shop in Japan two and a half years ago. This artifact was not a success and kept in a family basement until six months ago, where the family sold it cheaply, having amassed a fortune already. The 'buyer' happened to be Bowser, and one of his humans under mind control brought it to the Mushroom kingdom. Then the Mario Brothers beat Bowser and swipped the crown, and donated it to the yoshi's for helping. It reappered recently in a museum (again) at Yoshi's Island. With it, the Yoshi's Island Museum has become a success, but recently, it's been yet again snatched. That's where you guys come in.
Three books found in the same tomb state (after rough translations) that the queen was born a snob, but learned her mistakes and made her mark upon the world as a kind, generous person ever since her mother gave her the crown. These books also say that ever since a thief wooed her into trusting her with the crown, she was never the same, and yet, the crown was still found on her tomb, despite this legend...
~~~
So, the crown has been snatched again. It has been nicknamed 'the walking crown,' 'the teleporter's crown,' and a bunch of other names. Now, recently Donald Frank (seven years after the expedition) has found something grave... but he is not willing to share for some reason. You are investigating the crime, but the crime was perfect, there seemed to be no trace. Up to this morning, the camera's still show a picture of the crown on the monitor in its case, despite that with the naked eye, it is gone.
