When you play Super Smash Bros. or Melee, which do you usually prefer?
I don't know, but I feel that my circle of friends and me are the only ones who have been raised and trained under playing with stock. When playing one on one or three people, we play with seven stock. Three or more, we usually play with five stock.

Stock all the time always.
If I get bored enough, I'll start playing a versus match between CPU players where everyone has 99 lives. It's fun, and lasts like four hours. Four hours of people exploding off the side of the screen.

Too bad there isn't timed stock on this poll, so I'll go with the next best thing, stock, I usually play that on tournaments that I call, You Only Live Twice, if you don't understand what it means... I don't think there is actually anyone that doesn't get that.

I play in the "bonus" condition a lot. I prefer it that way, savvy?

Stock matches.
5 stock for 2 player, 7 for 3 player, and 10 for a 4 player match.
Although 99 stock matches are pretty fun on Super Suden Death...

I play a game i made up. 1 minute Super Sudden Death, get kills as fast as you can. 4 players is just insane, play on a small level, hillarious most the time. Usually I play stock though, high amounts (20 - 30)

Stock all the way, it keeps the Gameplay classic thorugh the use of Extra Lives, plus, it's more fair and you don't usually have to worry about the time and rush. In stock it's about skill, defense, and of course survival, which makes the game more suspensful.

Pretty much what everyone else has said. While shortly played, when a game is put on stock it sort of allows for more peace between the players. That way, when it ends it's pretty much on your shoulders and that can't be helped. And, if two of the players or more are good then the game can last for a huge amount of time. Of course, depending upon the difficulty of the AI and other things. Either way, the game always has some kind of play value; though if you're going for something long and entertaining, like everyone has agreed on; the stock is the way to follow. Who knows how long you could go, looking at you all; a game of stock between yourselfs would likely take all day. Well, at least until someones health got at least to 200 percent, and then you threw them off. But you're all sneaky now aren't you, don't hide your grins.
Besides, you can always set up some good kind of match with stock as one of you said. You can do anything, and everything; while it may not be to free it goes out all over. So hey, SSMB has a ruling field with that kind of aspects.

I do like stock matches. But sometimes, I'll do the odd Coin match. And if I'm playing someone I know I'll win against anyways, I'll do a Timed match and make a KO fest of it. ^^ I like mixing it up, but Stock is the default choice for me. I would like to try playing more than one person that is worthwhile to play someday.

I'm a little torn. As a general rule I prefer stock because I know whether or not I am winning. Then again, I like time because it's a total mystery who is winning and therefore I just lay as much smack in as downward a direction as possible to everyone I can get.
Plus I like four player Sudden Death. All of a sudden most people get real timid, like the French, except me.

I usually like to do timed matches. Stock matches are okay, but not my favorite. Coin matches just tick me off. XD And bonus matches I don't do much.
Super Sudden Death with a ton of stock is always fun, though. Bodies flying every which way until one last person is standing. What's not to love?
