I found this website while browsing Something Awful forums one day. www.thesixtyone.comIt's a musical networking website full of independent artists who can't normally get exposure through a label due to money or whathaveyou. You gain points for listening to The Rack, which is made up of music that was just added to the website, and you can spend your points to "bump" a song, showing your support for it. If a song you bumped does well, you gain points back for it. You get +20 points for logging on every day, +20 for each referral and +50 more every time a friend you referred levels up. It's still in Beta, but it's still pretty amazing. I've heard some great music on here, and have heard many good things about the service in general. But what if you're an artist? You can upload your music to thesixtyone of course. You'll gain exposure, and even some money if people download your tracks via the Amazon MP3 service. Oh, and just so you know, my thesixtyone username is "bathroomrage", so don't forget to put me down as your referrer!

I might check it out. Do you see any general trends in the genres of music that's popular there? Or does it change everyday?

Okay good because when I think of up and coming bands I usually have visions of terrible punk music and crap like "The Moldy Peaches."

Yeah, trust me, it's quite good for the most part.
And if you like something, you can bump it, which will move it up in the leaderboards, giving it more exposure.

Alright I'll see if I can set up something later today.
Also if you like "The Moldy Peaches" you have no taste in music.
Editor's note: Hit me up, "Corponation"
