gamevideos.com/video/id/18831And to think, I own a 360 just for this... So it's not going to be called Banjo-Threeie anymore? I can only hope it'll all share the same feel as the previous games. I mean, all those scenes depicting some eXTREME!! car riding action satisfaction doesn't seem to fit Banjo at all. I'm still kind of wincing over their new design, too.

Wow... that... doesn't even resemble Banjo Kazooie anymore. Before you know it, they'll be boasting about online deathmatch.
Gaming... what happened to you? You're so edgy and full of angst! We liked you better when you dressed in green and threw people's pottery around with wild abandon! When collecting five of the same items was actually worth something!
I weep...

I don't know. . . I don't like the looks of it. It looks automobile based. ,_,

Agreed with Red and Mattie....Sort of a disappointment if you ask me, but for the heck of it, it looks like something that everyone should try at least once.....but just to get kicks out of it and ridicule Rareware's attempts at making a comeback ... ...well, except for the pinata game..."Viva Pinata" I think (don't know how to do accents on my computer, so there should be a little squiggle above the "n"s...cuz everyone loves squiggles ) and Diddy Kong Racing. Those games were alright...

Hmm. This confirmed my suspicions that after splitting from Nintendo, Rare somehow managed to lose all their game design skills.
I'm hoping the game plays better than it looks, but I'm not really too impressed from what I've seen of it so far.

Yeah, tell me about it. I've waited FAR too long for this game to come out, only to make faces at its promo videos years later.

True it may look different, and not what we expected, but it's too early to jump ship and automatically assume this game is going to suck.

I'm not saying its going to suck from a few gameplay videos, I just don't exactly have high expectations for it. For all I know, Rare could buck the trend and pull an excellent game out of their ass despite the other games they've done post-Nintendo.

Exactly. Its just a little less of what we hardcore Banjo-Kazooie players expected. It does look like an adventure, but I'm not too fond of games involving machinery and parts and such. I'd rather have classic hand-to-hand beak-to-butt action than Tonka trucks everywhere.

I can see where 'multiplayer' potential is now. Can't really give a certain yes or no answer to how the game will play until it releases though, so give it time. Never know, the driving/building thing might just be the multiplayer section of the game and the rest a whole campaign mode.

You know I actually like the way this looks. It could satisfy the Mekboyz part of me pretty well.
Shame I don't have the consoles.

To be quite honest, I dig the craft customization bit. It was the only part I liked about Kingdom Hearts (I had the baddest Gummi Ship ever -- Vic Viper!), and I was put off by the overly kiddy tones of the first Banjo Kazooie. I remember blaring Aerosmith in my headphones while I played it muted.
Memories...

Man, I'm seriously going to cry if they take away the awesome platforming element that the other games had. I don't care about cars, I care about going to colorful worlds and jumping a whole bunch. I miss when we had a lot of platforming games coming out that focused on exploration, like Mario 64 and the original Banjo Kazooies, or Spyro, et cetera.
Anyway, I'm still getting it when it comes out. I'm hoping it's good, despite the odd designs and.. cars.

.....Amen!!! .....?
I completely agree with you, Pawy! I probably will get the game for the same reason: just to try it. The only thing that I hope is that it doesn't turn into a "Grand Prix and Versus" game like Mario Kart.....that would just disappoint me to a level where I'd have to bring out the chainsaw...

I don't see why people are complaining about it having a multiplayer, banjo-tooie did and it was awesome.
I like the art direction it's taken personally, and it looks like a fun game even if it has taken out the platforming. You just have to treat it like a new game and not a sequel.

As I see it, it's useless to complain.
Believe me, I understand the fear of losing Banjo-Kazooie's famous platforming elements. I mean, come on, that's the majority of what made the game amazing. Our famous bird and bear duo, rocking it out with stunts and upgrades.
But lately, I've been reading up on this game. Rare sounds confident in their move. Doesn't mean it's a good move. Rare has made some pretty stupid decisions in recent years.
But, I don't think they're going to ring the neck of their most famous platformer. Rare is trying to keep up in a new gaming market - especially on the 360. At first sight, seeing cars and customizable parts in Banjo-Kazooie is frightening. But Rare is doing its best to keep up in a growing market. They realize their original fan-base has matured. We've played games since Banjo-Tooie. We've changed.
Rare is trying to keep up with us. They don't want to spit out a remade version of Banjo-Tooie with pretty colors. They want to give us something completely new. The game, rest assured, will still have platforming elements. But, you have to live with the fact that these "vehicles" will play a big part. I have faith that the creators will have put both elements (platforming and "vehicle customization") in harmony.
Think of it this way. Did you know they were attempting to give every character in the game an actual voice. You know, no more of those interesting random gibberish noises.
Banjo with an actual voice? Yeah. Doesn't cut it. And, they knew it didn't cut it. So they threw out the idea. They know what we "the original fans" want.
I'm happy with all this "De-hype" Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts is getting from Nintendo Junkies. In my opinion, it's better than hype - because nothing ever lives up to that. I know Banjo-Kazooie will surpass our expectations. You gotta make the best of what you're given. And shoo, I'm sure Rare is doing it's best for us. But, lets not think about PDZ.
