I'll explain what I mean. At the other forums I am a part of, including my new found forum, LYMF Forums, I noticed that everywhere else has fresh topics and staff acting out their duties routinely. Here, people reply to topics, but members rarely start topics. So now everything is sorta..... dead. The blood is not flowing anymore. People should give this site a spark, and get the blood flowing again. So people will post replies, and so that we have something to talk about. I mean, nobody wants to revive 2-3 year old topics that haven't been touched for that amount of time. Wouldn't you people agree? Make this site more busy, more posts, more topics, old topics getting locked, staff replying, members replying, because this truly is a great site. I don't want to see it go to waste. Which, it basically is. I would start topics, but I am only one person. I can't do everything. But everyone can do something...

A good majority of the staff and members here have jobs, school, life, etc. It's not like a new topic has to be started every single day, but yeah it would be nice if this board were active just like it was in the golden days of Yoshi's Corner. But you have to think. Much of us actually have things to get done, rather than just sit in front of the computer all day.

But, people should contibute more often. I respect this site, and it's members, but it should basically be like YAF. Which is more...... alive. I love this site, but as you said, the "Golden Days" were good. I don't know what the golden days were like. I wasn't here. But I don't want to see this site go to waste. I am not flaming or hating, I just care about this site.

*Adding on to Brute* And besides, it says that YC has over 600 members, but look how many actually check the site at one time. These are really the ones that are devoted to the site, while others may be living their lives and/or have forgotten about this place. What this place may need is some advertisement? I dunno, it's just a suggestion.

I dunno things just slowed down more and more over time. People get other things to do and without so many new members coming in it gets caught up and dusty.
Though I agree there need to be a few more posts here. I'm trying to find things to enter.

You guys are making it seem like I am being a pest, and that I expect you guys to sit online all day. It is dusty, and kinda stale. It seems like there are some people devoted to this site like Lazo and Teh-Yoshi, but I usually see members who have been a part of this site since 2006, with only 24 posts or something. Or they don't post at all. Or very rarely, unless there's a new thread like this.

Yeah, things are just slow. But if you look at it, there's more quality over quantity, so that's a plus too.

it should basically be like YAF. Let's not even open this can of worms. It's a question of quality over quantity. For the sake of not sparking anything, let's just say that you're getting a better deal here.

Activity is not forced. We post when we want. Quality over quantity, like Mat said. That's how we roll. Staff don't even need to enforce their duties much because, well, there is not a lot of spammy topics or annoying 'n00bs'. They just look out for when it does, and it is quickly taken care of. I like it better with the occasional interesting topic, otherwise we all keep in contact in the chatroom IRC.

What this place may need is some advertisement? I dunno, it's just a suggestion. But then If you get to many people, the boards overflow with new members and no one is familiar. That's the issue with many boards, they are so big you don't get to know anybody. It loses it's tight community feeling. EDIT: Adding on to that, better to have some really active members then a ton of people that never do anything.

I have a pretty good amount of free time and check the boards now and then. It's just that not a whole lot of stuff on here really interests me, so I tend to not post very often. I could start a few topics, but the kind of stuff I'd create threads about wouldn't really appeal to many people here.

when a thread comes they pretty much die after everyone's had their say, there's no real discussion particularly. Personally I prefer the real time chatter in #yc, but I'll reply here time to time.
Hey just like this, fancy that.

#yc is where most of the activity is at.
Quality over quantity. That, and we tend to take things easy here. You know those gigs you go to, to see your favourite group and only 50 of you are allowed in? It's a bit like that.
That, and I work for 60% of the day and the last thing I want to be doing on my minimal free time is replying to millions of posted in threads. :S

I guess everyone has summed up pretty much every possible reason.
Although adding onto the "quality over quantity" statement, compared lolYAF, we have a more higher age range than them, most of the guys who go to YAF are on average under, what, 14? Here it's pushing over 18, dropping slowly of course, but that's besides the point.
Kids have school and do nothing else after their day is done, most of us have more responsibilities to attend to rather than post topic upon topic of pointless rambling.
Though hey, if that's your sort of thing, YAF maybe for you after all..

I'd rather have philosophical threads than ones like "Hi Joe" "How are ya'?" Believe it or not, there's many people here that don't post, but just look over our past topics and learn more about us. Sort of what you do minus the reviving part. Not that this has to tie in with the subject. . You should consider joining the IRC chat if you want action. I hear its a blast.
