Agreed, but is there a way we can avoid the "cry-of-lag"? Like in the sign-ups if we have everyone understand that if you lose, you lose... that is, unless the lag is justified by onlookers (if you can do that. I haven't played tourney, so I wouldn't know ). There will be do-overs allowed for overly laggy matches. And we are going by the honour system here. Since this is the YC group mainly, I don't really think we'll have to worry about cheats, but know that playing dirty will have consequences.

I'm game. I'm not particularly fond of items myself. This isn't to determine skill though, this is just for fun.

Ok, I think we've got enough support going for the tournament, so I say let's start the sign ups!! I assume those who have already given me their codes will be signing up, so we already have six. Let's see how massive we can make this thing!

I'll be in, code at some point, I'm busy this week.
EDIT: I'm up for recording the voices of people playing over skype if it's up for interest/I'm around for the match. Mario kart Wii proved to give hilarious commentary from all players. I have the power to do it and post here.

I'm not one for items myself. They take away the fun...but that's just me, folks. Count me in, though I'm having some trouble connecting. I'll get the Wii Code up in a little bit.

Alright. Sorry for the bit of emo there, but I think I can take over again. Thanks again, Lazo.
Firstly, if you're going to display your dislike for items being on, either don't post or don't sign up. Secondly, these are the rules, and they are, as of now, in stone. There will be no changing of the rules. Thirdly, results will be posted by both combatants after a fight. Fourthly, characters can be switched up between matches, meaning a combatant may use a different character each match if they choose to do so.
These are the rules. Love 'em or leave 'em!
Let's keep the sign-ups happening!

Alright, so we're doing a best out of three thing? Or is the character switch taking place after each round? My guess is the second, but I'm just clarifying now for myself and anyone else wondering the same thing.

Excellent! Thank you everyone for your support! Since we're nearing sixteen, and the signups are beginning to slow down, I'm thinking of capping this at sixteen. A nice, even tournament number that won't take too long to take care of, but won't be so short it'll pass us by.
Also, concerning times, why doesn't everyone post their best times, so I can begin matching people up? That'll just make it easier, I think.

I'm good between 1:00 PM - 10:00 PM in Mountain Time.
Edit: Also, may I add that 3 stock is a bit too short? I mean, I know it'll be faster that way, but people have a tendency to suicide... a lot, from what I've learned through WiFi battling. I was thinking 4 stock, but hey. It's not my tournament.

In all the matches I've played against people here, people really don't suicide all that often. My WiFi matches are all 3 stock and they last long enough, I'm not sure one more would make a lot of difference in the long run.

I'm a little off due to work, so when I am working, I can't get on until 8pm to whenever (EASTERN TIME, BY THE WAY!). However, when I'm off of work, I can play whenever. I'll post up my schedule as soon as I get it tomorrow!
By the by, friend code = 0903-2417-1429. Bring it on! ;D
