After some unfortunate delays, here we are again, with
Platinum edition.
Once again, we'll be exchanging gifts that can range from your pretty pictures to writing, poetry or heck, even materials if you think you're up to it. Rules are simple and have been repeated in endless similar groups around the world, so I don't think you'll have too much trouble. Create, give gifts, enjoy yourselves.
In order to do this, you must become a member and join the group.
Instructions.
The gift to your Santee is up to you! Gift art is the staple and probably the most expected, but definitely not limited to that. If you're able, feel free to go wild to your heart's desire by making things like traditional art, paintings, sculptures, music, novel-sized biographies, so forth.
If you happen to work on a drawing for your Santee, refer to descriptions mentioned in this thread: timyoshi.proboards107.com/index.cgi?board=art&action=display&thread=1133473203
And if you haven't posted a description of yourself in there yet, please do so! Any updates on your "character" would be appreciated as well.
[/li][li]No threads of gift exchanges to be created until Christmas Day, December 25th
Even though you can't do this yet anyway. Just to be clear, here.
[/li][li]One Santee, One Thread
Strictly a One-Thread Policy, folks, designated to limit thread growth in the People's Democratic Republic of the Yo... Basically, just don't post more than one thread. You only have one gift to contribute, and this is strictly for the exchange. If you've got other gifts to give, that would be awesome, but please post them in the Yoshi Art / Other Art boards.
[/li][li]Please, please, please get those gifts in on time!
It's never fun to have anybody singled out because their Santa somehow flaked on them, valid excuse or not. It's always a sad sight to see. Santas who have not sent in their gifts in on time shall have a word with me. Lets not have this happen.
[/li][li]Keep up the Christmas spirit!
If you can, you should probably try keeping up the Yoshi spirit while you're at it, too! But remember, it's the holidays! Buck up and have fun! Let's keep this a happy event everyone can feel welcome to and enjoy! This also means the most out of your participation would be greatly appreciated! Go around and make comments for all the gifts you see! Don't just post up your own gift and remain quiet for the rest of the exchange.[/li][/ul]
But When Does All This Monstrosity End?

And that's that. Feel free to ask me any questions regarding how to join or what's going on. You all can find my contacts, it's not hard.
Oh, and by the way, nobody cares if you were once a member from years ago or just extremely inactive! This is the time everyone, and I mean everyone to come together, like a reunion! Seriously, don't feel guilty about not joining because you think you haven't been contributing much to the boards as of late. If anything, now is your chance to make a wicked comeback and give back to Yoshi's Corner. Honestly, the bigger the member list, the better!
Lets make it happen.

Rules are simple and have been repeated in endless similar groups around the world, so I don't think you'll have too much trouble. Create, give gifts, enjoy yourselves.
In order to do this, you must become a member and join the group.
- Firstly, you'll have to sign up at the website thesecretsanta.com/joinhome.cfm
- Where it says "I RECEIVED A PASSWORD FOR THE GROUP I WANT TO JOIN" type in "YC SS 2008" and join that group. Understand that it is the group "YC SS 2008". There are other, unrelated groups with similar names and we don't want any confusion. The password for entering the group is yoshiscorner. Because we are creatures of habit.
...Yes the group leader is Androsynth [Johnny Good]. They won't be participating so there's nothing to worry about. - After you click on the gift that says "Join the group," enter your login ID if you have been a member for the past exchanges and you were able to remember such a thing. If not, sign up for a new account, but please be aware that where it says First, Middle, and Last Name, DO NOT put in your real names to avoid confusion. These are the names that will appear on the list, and not your Secret Santa username. So once the day of names being dispatched arrives, and you get some girl named Tiffany (hopefully there are no girls named Tiffany here), you'll be wondering what is it that you're even going to draw (assuming you'll be drawing)!
- Deadline for signing up is December 5, 2008. This'll give you two weeks to join and three to make or purchase your special gift and deliver it. Shouldn't be too constricting, now.
Instructions.
- As long as the gift is worth giving

But When Does All This Monstrosity End?
4:71 AM
- Like previously mentioned, sign ups for the exchange will end at December 5, 2008. That's when you will receive your Santee and start working on your gift.
- Although it is recommended you get your gift in by the day of December, 25, the deadline for all gifts will be January 10, 2009. The reason for such a delay is because some people may be out of town for the holidays, or just plain busy to bother sitting themselves down for gifts to be served only online. Who knows?
- Posting commentaries on gifts will end January 30 and this board will be locked, stored in the annals of history, spiders seeking refuge to build their cobwebs, and to be forgotten forever and ever and ever...
