Fantastic, I got mine. I can't wait to start this ^^, but hopefully I can fit it around my schedule XD.
Also, I noticed there are some participants that did not post a reference picture, or state what they want created as a gift for them. I would suggest to all of you who have not created such details to do so soon, so that those who will be making the gift can have a clear knowledge on what you want.

Got mine as well. Can't do anything this week since I have to get ready for finals. Next week I'm pretty much free.

Got mine as well. Excellence, I shall get to work on this when I can! Also, I second the opinion that some of the participants should elaborate on what it is they want to have drawn for them.

All right, cool. I hope everyone received their Santee. I sure got mine. (Just in case anyone hasn't gotten it yet, I have no knowledge of the list of pairings)
Also, did everyone post up an accurate description or a reference to characters and whatnot? I've been receiving questions from a couple of people not knowing what their Santee looks like. So if you guys want a gift that possibly resembles you this year, make sure to get those descriptions in now!
As for me, people usually draw a simple light blue Yoshi with yellow boots, nothing more. Preferably as Yoshi's Island style as possible.

Wait wait, wouldn't it be more fun if the Santa could decide what to give the Santee, basing the drawing on a reference but otherwise free to do what ever they see fit?
I dunno, that's just me.

Yes, I believe that's how it's supposed to be done. - As long as the gift is worth giving
[/u] The gift to your Santee is up to you! Gift art is the staple and probably the most expected, but definitely not limited to that. If you're able, feel free to go wild to your heart's desire by making things like traditional art, paintings, sculptures, music, novel-sized biographies, so forth. Although the world's your oyster, I'm not a big fan of shellfish. If you happen to work on a drawing for your Santee, refer to descriptions of people's preferred characters mentioned in this thread: timyoshi.proboards107.com/index.cgi?board=art&action=display&thread=1133473203And if you haven't posted a description of yourself in there yet, please do so! Any updates on your "character" would be appreciated as well.[/li][/ul][/quote] It's more fun if it's a surprise. If you really want something specific, try asking for it from someone who's taking requests. And in my opinion, wait for that until after this event's over. It would be a bit awkward if you requested something from your secret santa.

I believe what Teh is saying is to make sure you post a description of your character's/characters' appearance so your Santee has a starting point to go off of. Not that you're telling your Santee what to draw specifically. The end.

So...like...my santee hasn't posted any links to a reference or anything and apparently has no post in the "your appearances" thread. I know of a picture of this person's character that does exist, but it's a little dated and I don't know if they've made any changes.
SO!!! Some people really need to post their appearances. Because the last thing you'll want is a picture that's off...and the last thing I'll want to give is a gift that's not accurate.

But anyways, I have a question. Is it allowed to make more than one picture for your Santee? Or is there a limit of just one (so as to be fair or something, I dunno). I plan to make perhaps two for special reasons... but I want to make sure it is allowed. I personally don't see anything wrong with it. If you feel like going crazy and doing something extra special for your Santee, I say go for it! But I guess that's all up to the admins. As for character appearances and descriptions... I think it'd may be a good idea if PFY (or some other admin not participating) PM'd whoever hasn't posted a reference or a detailed description. I'm sure everyone wants their character depicted correctly. And nothing would make me more upset than my Santee complaining that I drew their character incorrectly, after I'd put much time and effort into their gift. (And yes, it's happened before, but not to me, mind you)

I don't see why there should be a limit on the gifts you give to your Santee.
However, any gifts that are not for your designated Santee should be posted outside of the Secret Santa section.
And it looks like Anjil just addressed the situation here before I could reach PFY on MSN. I'll give him a reminder on what's up.

Oh shoot, I think I'll make myself a little more available than I have been lately.
Yeah, guys, please make sure you've got detailed character references and if you posted one a long time ago please double check to make sure it's accurate and true to what you'd like. Make it as detailed as you can because your santa will be spending a substantial amount of time staring at it!
They can't guess, so make their life easier and check. If there are Santas out there that aren't particularly happy with their santee's character reference, you can PM me and I'll whip your santee in to shape.
Remember guys, skimp on your references, and your Santa will be left guessing and you're likely to get something unexpected.
Just like when contacting an IT tech support staffer at college or work, provide them with as much information as possible, not doing so will cause your problem to not be rectified quickly (and if you're calling me, mega frustration, likely facepalming hardcore style while you're on the phone).
Lets make this Secret Santa one to remember.

I think I'll join, but someone PM me about how you do this secret santa thing, then I will confirm that I'm going to join on here with a new post, even if it is double posting.
Appearances (There are a little hard to get through....)
The appearances will be edited almost every time I visit. and I just shortened them A TON.

Yep, sign-ups ended on December 1st. So I guess you will have to wait 'til next Christmas season... Unless someone decides to run a Summer Secret Santa, which I think would be fun
