Not sure if any of you guys even remember me, I wasn't the most active person here. Damn I was only 14 years old back when I registered. Sad thing is, not much has happened in my life. My father died, then I ended up going to uni, studying something completely useless only to end up in a way too competetive business where I never knew if I would have work the next day, and finally suffered a burnout, and fell into a depression. These days, I am finally back on track and hopefully finally get my life together after all these years wandering around just being lost. I also finally began to write game reviews during my spare time. retrovikingreviews.wordpress.com/

Edit: I might not have the attention span to give a full update on myself right now, but if anyone is reading this, since there are some mods like myself and admins in this thread wielding ultimate power, what if we created a whole new board where we can all continue keeping up? Seeing that there seems to be this recurring idea of missing people and wanting this forum type of community over the instagrad of the usual social media messengers? Maybe it wouldn't last, maybe it would, but might be fun either way! Y’know, I’ve often thought of this idea. I dunno if it’s me being a stubborn old fart, but I always loved the relaxed nature of forums compared to the scrolling chaos of social media. I guess discord servers kinda fill that need a bit, but... yeah. It’s not quite the same feeling. I would love to see an active forum and community, but I wonder if it could be successful. Probably never like it WAS, but it’s still a fun thought. Passion project anyone? XD Edit: Curious how much flexibility Proboards even gives these days. Because it would also be kinda fun to restore some of the old visuals and theming. Remember the old black and green theme when we were hosted on Soul’s YoshiArt webpage? HAH! Sadly, a screenshot of it isn’t logged on the Wayback Machine anymore. The blue theme is though.

You just have to use timyoshi.proboards23.com on the Wayback Machine to see the old black and green theme. This is a link to the earliest instance that the Wayback Machine captures, and it goes all the way back to June 7, 2004! For more reminiscing fun, the URL changed to timyoshi.proboards107.com after a few years, so you can use that URL in the Wayback Machine as well. We were using the blue theme by this point, but you can see some of the banners that we used to use (example) that may not have been captured under the timyoshi.proboards.com URL. Please don't ask me how I remember those URLs. =P

Please don't ask me how I remember those URLs. =P HAH! Well, I’m glad you remembered them! I thought that black layout was lost to time. It’s really cool to see it again. Think I’ll have to tuck a screenshot or two away for safekeeping. Thank yooooooou!!! ^^ As much as I miss the slower pace of forums, I have a hard time believing we could properly reboot anything in today’s web environment. YC becomes the place for old internet farts like us? Pfff xD

Holy canoli it's been a damn while...Really sorry and sad to hear it didn't work out between you and Angela, Ken, I was wondering why her art/gallery completely dissappeared about 3-4 years ago guess now i have my answer. (Still have been searching for and trying to get my hands on that cover art she made for your old fanfic's chapter 3, pretty much the only piece of art my OC had before i got the pony infection in 2012 too and switched characters, Wayback machine sadly only has the thumbnail of it saved)
As for me, i stuck around the forums up until the revamped forums outside of proboards died out (who here remembers the MSN Live group chats we had? Those were the days...), finished middle school, got a degree in computer networking and pretty much just drifted from one job to another in this craphole of a country i'm living in. Otherwise, i've reunited with a childhood friend/schoolmate since then, picked up a bit of a hobby of vector art and now i'm busy looking for the next job offer i can take. Just hit 28 years old three days ago. God it's been so long.
Probably the biggest change is i picked up Roleplaying as a serious hobby, got a bit better at D&D after the near disaster that was the old campaign that happened on these forums, and while i haven't posted or been active at all around here, YC was never too far from my mind over the years. My head got a lot thicker at least, and i pretty much swore off of spamming XD at the end of every goddamn sentence.

I think about this place a lot. I wish I hadn’t gotten so self-aware and self-conscious when I hit my teen years. Convinced myself that spending my time in an online community was somehow embarrassing or something to be ashamed of, and vanished from the internet. Now look at us in 2021 - that’s what the world has become. Everything is online.
This place encouraged teeny little preteen me to draw every single day. It encouraged me to write. It kept my passions alive. I still wish I hadn’t lost all of my old art to broken tinypic and uploads. It would have been kind of a treat to see what I was making 15 years ago.

I'm glad to see you broke your 10 year streak of not posting! Any chance that discord server is still around? Thank you, thank you. It’s a miracle I even remembered what my password and login stuff was... HAH! But yes, I see you posted your twitter. So I’ll reach out to you there, as it’s private invite. But you’ll find a lot of yoshis both old and new in the group. I’ll be glad to forward an invite! And speaking of twitter, that’s a great idea.. I’ll leave some contact info here for folks who might be dropping by. Any old members still lurking, you’re more than welcome to poke me on my twitter @zipfox if you wanna say hello! ^^ Funnily enough, it remembered my global boards account but not this one. I have no idea what my account even was. Do you still have that Discord link? I haven't done anything Yoshi in over a decade, but some browsing through backups convinced me to reminisce.

Heeeeey~ If you're the YoshiFrog who I used to chat with back in the day, it's amazing to know you're still around and I'm super happy to see you again! I still cherish all the silliness from back then. Additionally, I have a little picture you drew where you mimicked styles of various artists from around the forums, myself included. Take a peek here! For real, I'm super thrilled seeing you again if that's you! ^^ Do you still have that Discord link? I haven't done anything Yoshi in over a decade, but some browsing through backups convinced me to reminisce. Yes yes, we chatted on twitter. I feel the group is mostly quiet now. However, the Yoshi community is alive and well on twitter and various private discord groups. We can always chat again if you wish! ^^

Just gonna throw it out here, just in case someone might actually find this relic of a post in the future. Does ANYONE still have Angela's old picture used for the forum-wide fanfic's third chapter? Since we all now know what happened in the interim years and she pretty much nuked her galleries i have no other option left but to ask if someone, somewhere MAYBE still has a copy downloaded. Sadly there's no archive for deviantart, the imageshack archive that exists on the webarchive is completely locked to the public so the link on this forum has been broken for over a decade now so a very large chunk of her amazing art is just completely lost media...

I don't have anything saved, so I'm unable to help you in that unfortunately. But it goes to show how things can get lost over the years, even on the internet. I've been on the hunt for a number of old pictures too, even ones Anjil did. I recall a cute one with a Yoshi swimming alongside ducks/swans, joking that their shapes in profile were very similar. Haha! I'd love to have that one. Anyway, I keep chiming in on this topic from time to time. It's good to hear from all of you again! For real. Hope you all are doing good! Double-scoop ice cream

This is the best I could do. You can see the thumbnail for the picture on the bottom row. I think I have some of her art saved on a hard drive somewhere, but it would only be artwork she did of my character.

Pretty cool in 2022 theres still some posters on this site, brings back a lot of memories. I'm trying to work up the inspiration to draw again as soon as i get my life together and whatnot. I do remember when this site used to host some awesome Yoshi art on here. Some of the artists had a really positive impact on me and is what inspired me to want to become an artist because I fell in love with their work. It had cool artists on here like AnjilYoshi, Norby (who go's by Kaidzsu on his twitter now) and I still have a lot of the old artwork from that website. There was one artist who i really used to like but I can't find any of her old artwork from 2005 that she posted on this site i think, but i think she went by the name Koshi or Koshizu or something like that. She and LunaYoshi were some of my most favorite artists on here. And i guess i've been feeling nostalgic lately and was kinda hoping to see her old artwork on here. I don't remember too much but from what i heard/remembered, she had some sort of drama or something on here a very long time ago and deleted all her work at that time, which is such a shame cuz I wish i could of seen some of it. Do any of you guys remember anybody from that time? Koshi, Anjil and Norby or anybody?

I am present now, I miss this place, making talking steam engines isn't as lively as being with fellow Yoshies.

Hi guys, am I allowed to post here if I don't think I ever posted here before? I recognize some of you from other sites. Hi, Yoshiken! That's cool that this board is still up! Mine went down sometime in the mid-2000s. My old yoshi art website's still up, but it's hella out of date. I'm still drawing yoshies now and then though if you want to see yoshi art spanning from 1997 to 2022. DeviantArt! If you remember me, cool! Hi! If you don't, that's okay. I'ma slink back into the shadows... (Posting again to see if my profile pic works. Formatting was borked.)

Holy crap, I can't believe the hit of nostalgia I just got! Crazy to see and hear from you all again! I honestly miss all the many friends I made on here, and I wish I did a better job of keeping in contact with you guys. I suppose with this reunion, I'll update you guys on whats happened in my life as well over the past decade. I'll have to warn you though, its not pretty! So, it may have already travelled through the grapevine already, but for those who don't know, Anjil (Angela) and I went through a nasty divorce some amount of years ago. We agreed to not have any contact with each other again, so please do not bring this up if you are in contact with her, as I am sure it will bring up some bitter memories. However, this divorce spiralled me into massive depression. I decided to work on myself and got my own place, staying single for a while. It took a couple years, but I was able to pick myself back up and socialize again. I finished school with a degree in Astronautical Engineering, and got a job at Boeing for a bit. Disaster struck once again when the property I was living in suffered through a huge flood and was completely destroyed. My stupid self never bothered to insure this property, and so I lost everything except for my car, a few clothes, and some electronics that were on high shelves. I decided that it was the best time to start a fresh new life, and so I immediately packed everything into my car, quit my job, and moved across the country (Arizona -> New York) to be next to a girl I had gotten close to online. Lucky for me, she is now my wife! I got a new job working at Lockheed Martin, and was trying to pick my finances back up. I made a decent amount of money, and lived in a very cheap apartment for a while so that I could save money. I got offered a very nice position at a start up in North Carolina a little bit later, and so moved down here where I currently live. I saved up a large amount of money, and was about to purchase a house and finally move out of the apartment life, when I had a moment of reflection. See, I always had a dream to work on the development of video games, but I never thought I had taken the right path in life to get into it. Well, I finally decided that I didn't want to keep living a "what if?" kind of life, and so I took all those savings, and I started my own Indie Game Development Studio with it a few months ago! I hired some employees (programmers, animators, artists, etc.), and we have started on our first big project! So, while I am still in a dinky apartment, I am starting to see my dreams come to life (although it will take a few years to actually develop the game). Life seems to finally be chill again. We also are trying to have a child, so I might be a father soon! Anyways, I would LOVE to hear from you all again. I am practically on discord everyday, so I would be sure to reply. I know I am terrible at keeping in contact, but this time I promise to do my best! My Discord is: Yoshiken#4986 Also, if you were interested in checking out the game that my studio is developing, check out the twitter account: twitter.com/DewborneDawnKeep in mind that we only started development a few months ago, so there is still very little content, but I would GREATLY appreciate the support! I suppose I'll plug my own twitter account as well, even though I am not that active since I spend all my time on my game's twitter account lol. Here is my own personal account: twitter.com/KurtisT96Say, I noticed your Discord address doesn't work anymore, mostly due to that update, do you still have an account there?

I haven't been here since I was a LITERAL child. Over 15 years ago. Lied about my age to be here and I shouldn't have, but this site is a core memory for me and played a role in learning how to function on the internet (responsibly). I hope there are still people here.
Edit: Yoshiken??? Holy crap. I remember you. I don't remember a lot (like my old username) but I DEFINITELY remember you. I was on a couple other Yoshi forums and I don't know if they're all still up but I'll be hunting for them.
