Even though it's Christmas, a script kiddies work is never ending. Therefore, as I posted over at tyfn, here's a little advice on password security. Bear in mind 98% of all network security related problems are caused by bad passwords. Are our passwords good enough? If not, change them. Use this as a guide to checking how easy or difficult your password is. www.certainkey.com/demos/password/Just done one of mine, and apparently, it'll take 17 million days to crack. One of my other passwords would apparently take 989 million days to crack. I'm secure. Wow, try shoving this in: 1>a;ZSbjG6?ye Thats the result you want. The days to crack is an estimate, obviously, but it gives you an idea of the sort of standard you're aiming for. The more complex it is, the better. There should be all ticks in the boxes, at least.

You down with entropy? Yeah, you know me! Who's down with entropy? Every last homey!
I just saw someone's LiveJournal get hacked, too. So the password wasn't secure enough; changed it to the easy to remember stuff that registers those 999,999,999 on days to crack password.
...No, it's not the example provided.

How come this is in the staff section? Why not let everyone else know about it?

Now I think about it, I dunno. I posted it in the staff lounge on tyfn too. Oh well, I'll move it.

Do you know of any kind of good password generators that make these types of insane passwords?
