Lately I've been listening to rather slow songs over and over again, picking up on certain lyrics that seem to reach out "Drawing idea".
Music has power to inspire. I've currently got a drawing going that was inspired from lyrics from Muse's 'Unintended'. Specifically the lines "There was the one who challenged all... my dreams and all my battles..." and "You could be my unintended choice, to live my life extended, you shall be the one I'll always love...". (You'll have to wait and see what becomes of it, not finished yet.)
I know "Boulevard of broken dreams" by Green Day inspired one of Anjils drawings, but who else has used music to give them ideas on drawings?

I have this fun little game that I play when I'm bored, where I listen to a song and draw the first thing that comes to mind TRIPLE BONUS MULTIPLIER ! ! I tend to not scan those pictures because they're cruddy, but it always leads to great ideas later on for pictures ^_^ Most of my scanned images have been music influenced, though I can't remember the exact songs to each image right now XD; I think my influence for the picture I did of Tempest recently was "Headstrong" by Trapt, which is why he came out so smug looking.
It's fun to see what songs can bring to mind Double-scoop ice cream

Just that "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" pic I did earlier. Finding music in this house is just kind of hard, unless you played Tony Hawk, SSX, 1080, & Sonic in the video games, or you listen to dad's R&B on weekdays. -.-;
Since I might start downloading music again, I might make a few more drawings. I have one CD now. Gorillaz - Feel Good Inc might be a good song to insipired by, but I have to figure out some stuff. Also Seether - Fine Again sounds good, but I have to listen to it again.

Well, I haven't made any pics yet based off music, but I almost always listen to music as I draw, it helps me think, if that qualifies. I have wanted to do pics based off pericular songs, but I'm trying to find one that will actually inspire me

I ALWAYS get inspired by music. I love picturing in my mind some kind of scene based off of the song. But the scene usually looks better in my head than on paper. XD

Oh yeah, all the time lmao. Sometimes it's like emotional music that makes me wanna draw a really sad scene, or even an upbeat dance song that makes me wanna draw something flashy. Like Yoshiken said, the best are strong beated songs that make me envision battle scenes. Usually, they look a lot worse on paper than they do in my head, so I scrap them.
Coral, Headsprung? I loved that song when it first came out - overplayed it though. Haha, I'm gonna go listen to it and stare at my picture. XD I'm COOL. *slapped*

I did draw a picture based on BOBD. But never finished it. >_> I was gonna do a lil dance animation based on Pinoy Ako. But it would work better in Flash. (which I don't have <_<; So..meh? I listen to music all the time while drawing and photoshopping though. XD

I think the majority of artists use sound or music for inspiration...meh, must be one of those 'artistic' thangs. I personally use music 90% of the time for drawing. If I'm not listening to it, more often than not its because I need to draw down an idea before my inspiration lapses, hahah. Yeah, my pictures are most of the time derived from a word, line, or even entire song. Although I find music with lyrics motivates me more to draw a picture - music without makes me want to animate.

Music doesn't inspire me to draw, but I do need it to keep me in that drawing mood. I always tend to listen to the happy stuff. That's all.

Inded, does nothing for me. Usually it's the lyricsthat inspire people in songs, it seems -- and 98% of mine lack lyrics.

I usually absorb some inspiration from music tracks, however, due to my lazyness and lack of motivation in general, I don't use these "pieces of inspiration"... they're just spinning in my head till they vanish, rather. Kul. :P
But I always listen to music when I draw something (JPOP OMG YESH).

I usually don't get any inspiration for drawing from music; however, I seem to draw better when I'm listening to music while I'm drawing. I have no idea why. =P

Hmmm drawing with music? I've tried it before, but either way the pictures I manage to scrap together come out odd. Yet when I do try to use music for inspiration I usually stick to some kind of music with just a flowing melody and harmony. They don't always need words, as long as the song sticks to the mood of the picture and image you wish to capture from your mind. Otherwise, I've found them looking odd if some kind of Rock finds its way into those gallows. Yet when writing I will as well try to focus on music, yet if it has words you can get carried away with the lyrics and find yourself putting a little bit of what isn't you in whats yours haha. So, for writing it takes a touch of wordless attitude to make it string together. Usually writing and the music follow the same mood.
I've found many of some morbid poets I know writing while listening to some dark themes from the Silent Hill series. Others stick to happy melodies, and lyrics without the pen/pencil in hand can help stir up some feelings you weren't expecting. Other than that, when writing I stick to the technoish and game theme genre, yet with that it doesn't help either haha. Some artist you see just have great imagination, all they need is to cradle an image in their mind and they can slap it on paper without any influence beside them. Music itself though as many say can be the "Universal Language" and it really is. The way it makes you feel can effect a lot of things you choose to do in your day and in your life.
Music just seems to wrap its note ridden hands around your ears and feel your mind with thoughts you hadn't expected. I suppose it's a balm to the soul, as is sleep in it's own pattern. Whatever it wakes, seems to appear in your actions and emotions.
Around here though its not to easy to get good music unless a program is used to obtain some. Most CD's lying around are that of Rock, Country, and Old 90's hits. Nothing wrong with any of them, yet I don't think anyone in this house gets touched by the words 200 times over.

I do listen to music, but i rarely listen carefully, though i did have one idea from The Importance Of Being IDle by Oasis though i never got round to doing it. Other than that it really hasn't influenced me much, not that much has. All my drawings are just my character standing in the middle of a page, generally im just practising
