Well it depends bud, you could get multiple views on this being a line between good or bad. Either way, it's personal opinion and belief, what you do you should feel inside yourself. In truth, I do not see mixing those two things with Christian beliefs as heresy against the church itself. If its for a book, so many could see things in diffrent views and go off on what is said. If you wish to mix the beliefs I say go right ahead for it, if its something you alone would wish to try then there is nothing wrong with the personal perception of what you percieve. Heresy could be focused on many things, but I do not believe that such would fall under that catagory. Some take it as breaking the commandments or going against God. Giving god abilites that you see fit for a tale would not be heresy in the facet that it is for personal use in a fictional way.
For years many writers have given God new outlooks and tried many diffrent ideas with what we have been taught as a whole. Whats in your mind is in your mind and no one can tell you otherwise; but personally what you are doing sounds like a good idea and you should try for it. You're not preaching a religon, but merely writing a story that you have thought of. With religon popping its head in so many things, so many people could view anything as heresy. Lighting a match and throwing it 2 blocks near a church into a garbage can could be noted by heresy as some strange man. Remember one thing, when you have an idea; go with it, the best things in this world have challanged nature as it is.
Think to the movies and books even of our time which have listed God as a being in the human race, or even children as holy beings ready for a kingdom in Narnia. All of them focus somehow on Christian kingdoms and virtues; even some comics here and there give God new looks and morals focused on Christian beliefs. Try and experiment with new things. Viking Gods have always been so interesting, and if you look they to are even connected to stories in our very own bible. Odd how they all zig zag with one another but its true.
