Ok my question is how do you get photoshop.7? Do you have to buy it? If so how much does it cost? Thanks, ~spikeyoshi

First of all, this is in the wrong place as this isn't a game question.
Photoshop 7 doesn't seem to be sold on Adobes website anymore as Photoshop CS2 is the latest version. That goes for $649...

Frog's got a point.
Although ... it would be really helpful if we had a General Q/A section ... it seems we don't have one.

Uh.. really expensive, haha. I would suggest you find out if you're serious about art before indulging in this expense.

There's always the cheaper Photoshop CS, or the even cheaper Photoshop Elements. I don't think they're as good as 7.0 (I've never tried 'em), but they're nice if you don't feel like spending an extra $500. Photoshop CS is about $170 at your local Best Buy. I think Elements is about $70, if I'm not mistaken.

As Tempest said, it's a big thing to consider. These here programs are expensive (unless you have a student discount like I was able to take advantage of -- I guess my sister is useful for something). And they can also frustrate those who aren't quite dedicated or willing to be dedicated to the art of art.
I found Photoshop CS to be nice, although it seems most people like Photoshop 7 more. I have a friend who swears by Photoshop Elements, and her art's pretty impressive, so I think CS or Elements could be a good friend for art.
Photoshop's nice for nifty coloring and shading techniques, and lineart to a degree. Depends on what someone wants to accomplish with it. I tend to not use Photoshop all that often as I use Flash for smoother and much faster lines and Corel Painter for a more.. painting like effect for a lot of my drawings.

Yeah, Photoshop, with all of it's mighty art-editting skill,will put you back a huge amount. If you get it legitimately, like I, of course, did. >>; <<;
But Photoshop's not all. There's a lot of Nifty free programs out therethat can do a lot of things that Photoshop can as well, it's just that Photoshop has a to nof super-rarely-used functions that you'll probably never usein your entire experience of using it. Look for OpenCanvas or The GIMP, those aretwo editting programs wit ha lot of options, as many options as most digital artists should need on an early basis.
