Do you have someone you completely respect and worship? Someone you look up to and admire? Someone you feel safe with?
If so, this thread is about that.
Is your hero fictional? Is he from a history book? Do you have two or more?
It could be Superman, it could be yoshi, it could be Firedrake, it could be Cinderella, it could be a firefighter, it could be your brother, it could be a Native American, it could be your best friend... but who do you consider a HERO?

Steve Irwin... *cries* D:
Wat about a SUPER HERO! *dramatic pose* I still feel like a loser for saying Danny, which is akweird because I usually don't care. D: Hey, a 14 year old that managed to get half-killed and decided to use his powers to help people and keep up with school work AND has parents that attempt to kill him on a daily basis AND has a crush on a ghost hunter AND has an evil Uncle whom has a crush on his mom and attempts to steal her away by making her divorse Jack AND has the risk of turning evil, even if he does something small like cheat on a test AND manages to have some sort of social life is kinda cool. :3 And ghost are the kewlest things ever. >> *superglompsdanneh*

Hmmm... well, I do definitely look up to my family. My successful brother and sister as well as my parents who now own this crazy shoe store at the Boca Park fashion district in Las Vegas.
But alongside that, someone I look up to with high respect and completely admire probably has to be Fifth. That guy has crazy talent, and is just so humble about everything.

It depends there really, when it comes to the meaning of hero: there is someone and something that fits within the title. Yet, this person is neither famous or a large part of society, they are in themselves just an average human being. Well at least in their thoughts they are, but by realism, they are so much more then they have always pondered. This soul is hard to define, the only thing that can really be said factually would be the name. Of course, not many know it, it's something that was always kept under wraps. Like a present in ways, knowing it made you a step closer to some goal. Whatever that goal was, well, such still remains amongst a mystery. He always went by Johanan, or at least, that was the title that he was proposed with. It was a secretive little thing, masked behind an online persona; or, by the efforts that were tried. Publically, the only known refrence to his existance was by the outline of a man known as "Joshi". Here, especially in these plains, he was more than just drastically known. His efforts and standing made a diffrence on the community, at least within an earlier era. He had not only seen the construction of this place, but he was a part of it; one of the earliest members to ever join. Everyone seemed to know him, as if he was the whole of the crowd, the welcome wagon beneath the surface. Any who peeked through the YC's doors would be greeted by his own personal comment, something that at the time would remain special. Of course, they did cease, but not on the mention of apathy; for you see, the board was beginning to grow. One on one contact with every newcomer became close to impossible, if not a function that seemed near restricting to complete. That would not stop him though, it would be a long time that his feet would stand in this lawful ground, or well, "unlawful" to say the least. Johanan was not only one to strive for justice, but his aims of this world were always bright; there were few things to dim his regard, and little to minimize his views.
Throughout his attendance among the Yoshi's Corner borders, Johanan had always withstood as a symbol of Moderation. His duty was to keep the beams steady, never letting the structure tumble; it was this dedication, this desire to be something that would lead to an inevitable struggle in his own means. Unfortuantly, not every detail of his story can be told, only because of certain lines that may not be crossed. Yet, even in this world, a place where harm can not truthfully touch our skins; Johanan held out his hand, to protect those that he saw fit. Even when the winds would toss him aside, his mind was always set in a frame of absolution. He would not bend, he would not mend for anyone; what he saw as being correct would remain correct, and that field of perception has never changed. He was young in those times, cast in that of an immature bounty; such was not the way he worked though. For age meant nothing to this man, even on the inside he had remained that of an adult. Sure, happiness and innocence still blessed his cheeks, but there was a lot of heat beneath the eyes. That scoring look, to seethe through the wicked and find what made the grown insignia tick. To think, imagine, a young boy dressed in nobility; understanding fully of his power and never misusing it in any standard. He joined here, and frolliced; part of this lands exciting play. He was an ambassador of the sorts; not only opening many hearts, but showing many molds the way into these "blessed" 'scapes. Even Graedius can't deny, that if it weren't for Johanan, he might have never found this board, let alone the people inside of it.
It would be a short time after until Johanan would stumble upon his field of work, or at least at the time, that of writing. If there is anything this man has always been known for, it was his first fiction ever released amongst these walls. He had named it YATE, in full terms, that of "Yoshi Advanced Technology Enterprises". In his ambition for those that remained here, he dedicated the story to their names and lives; of course, only devulging into their characters and attitudes. In those days, it had stained itself into the threads; becoming not only popular, but a "sign" that would stick to Johanan for few years to follow. Everyone had known him for what he had put down on paper, his own translation of the mind. It gave them ways to understand his appearance, his gestures, and the feelings that he felt toward all. He had, indeed, not only found a home among his friends; for, it was life, a life that he had so long sought to have. Power, allies, happiness, indulgence: anything anyone would ever wish for, had fallen into his hands. Yet, he never held onto it with greed; for that was far from his style. In the sake of who and what he was, he shared it with those that came and went from his arms. He only wished for one thing, and that of the refrence was but to give smiles to those that he could help to. Johanan was that of a giving spirit, he could not contain everything that he was cherished with. It would be these actions that would soon build upon his figure, for so long, it's what he would be recognized as. Even within the changes that would come to this place, the rips and shatters that would dwindle the halls.
Johanan, did at least, retain himself that of a "Girlfriend"; she could be remembered by the title of Blinx2000. Both of which seemed head over heels for the other, greatly tied at the knot and interested in the "word" of love. It was in this period, that I myself was given an opportunity not only to meet this man, but to get the chance to speak to him one on one. From this point forward, he would always remain, and ever shall; the greatest friend to exist. It was in those "early" days, before the wicked rush had yet to settle it's seeds in these grounds. His dreams and illusions were set to make things straight, to help not only establish a perfect community, but to be a part inside of it. He got so far, going where was needed, talking to whom he could; all in the matter of bringing the outside in, and causing an eruption of influence and inspiration. Johanan had not only seen a brighter tommorow, he knew that he could create it; that he had the ability inside his hands to shape it. He trusted the people here, and he gave their faith to their name, their abilities. It would be of course, in this period of mannerisms, that the truth of everyones inside intentions would come sprawling out. Of course, such as well can't be spoken of, due to the safety of names and confidentiality. Let it be known though, that even after so many falls and broken tendons; Johanan never put the bane of life away. His main respect was set forward, and even when all would seem twisted, he never put his chin down. That is what makes someone special, the ability to never give up; to keep walking ahead even when the staircase might jot downwards. He saw a light, a means for him to never back away from challange. That he didn't, that he would never, he knew that he had what it took to make things go the way they should.
Of course, events would arise that would soon alter the course of his actions; probelms would occur, people would bicker. Let it be known though, that even through so much trouble, so many lies; Johanan never gave up on this place. He only thought of one resolution, and that to make sure the board would always last. Even in his leaving, keep in mind that he stood through so much, and always held on. Sometimes, we all need a break; and he took what he saw, and ran with it. Today he still thrives, out there in an Xbox Live kind of world; speaking it up, and still keeping the soul and the attitude that he has always had. Undeniably though, Johanan has changed; he's a harder man on the inside, and he's grown to differ on that spot of innocence. Yet, he shows it so much, that happiness that kindness in his bowers. He never lets it depart while he speaks. It's at times like that, you sit and wonder; why do things go the way they do, and if you could change things, to make them better. Would you? People even now, try to say that Johanan just left because he wanted to; or that he didn't amount to enough. They don't know the troubles he had to face, even from his friends. From "test" to little games, and even through that; he existed, he thrived; he wasn't one to drop the bomb and run away. People may have a sour tooth with him, but only because they don't realize what he had done for them, what he does do. At times, we all forget what really matters, and Johanan has done so much, with so little, and always succeeded.

I'd have to go with anyone who has the guts to broadcast for a television network in the middle of a Category 3 hurricane. This includes the person who's doing the speaking and the camera crew. And to do it year after year, time and time again...

I really look up to my mom and dad. They've been able to look out for me and my sister and provide us with a happy life. I don't think there's anything better than that.

Contention, that is beautiful... you've said so much about Joshi... it just seems there was so much more to him then I saw at first. I never thought of him in your point of view, but now I have another side of the story in my mind. I just don't know what else to say... it seems he really was a hero to you, and you've captured the meaning of the word perfectly.
Now, I don't believe I've stated my hero.
My hero is merely the people around me that care for me. My mom, my half-brother, my sister, my step dad, my grandparents, my dad, my brother, my whole family what. They've always been there for me and I've had so much fun with them. My dad, despite living miles from me, has helped me so much. He's taken me out to see the Eiffel Tower, helped me teach me to write... and once I was being bullied and he came sprinting after the guy, barefoot. He saved me from a painful memory. Then there's my Grandma and Grandpa. Oooohh man, Grandma is so loving... she knows so many secrets and recipe's, and cares about me so much... I couldn't live without her. Grandpa talks a lot, repeats stuff a lot, and a bit deaf, but he has wisdom un-compared by many. My mom has cared for me too, as all mom's do, but she's just been there so many times, whether it was homework, going out... she always worried about me taking a bath, and I don't regret her worry anymore.
I could write about my whole family, but it extends a long way... so anyhow, my family are my hero's.

It's strange for I have no real heroes. Now fictional... well, same there. However, when I'm down in bad thoughts, I look up to my yoshi generation and the various things I will be doing with them in the future. I could make small movies that relate to the stories about them, games, anything my heart is desiring, they shall help me.

Around here? Bah, haha. I'd say Lazo would have to be a role model for me. I don't know why; he just seems like the guy in charge. And he is, unsurprisingly.
A role model in my everyday life... would have to be my mother. She says I'm just like her, except more obedient and more motivated, haha. She usually finds something okay to say... sometimes. Other times, she just snaps at people. But nobody's perfect now, are they?

I'd have to say Norman Borlaug, who through his work as an agricultural scientist has been credited as saving the lives of over a billion people.
Mad props also go to Otto von Bismarck. "When you want to fool the world, tell the truth." Rock on, Bismarck. Rock on.

I look up to no one, I feel that worshipping or having someone as a hero means you have little faith in yourself, and means you want their sort of life or lifestyle. Also Ideling or worshipping someone can make you feel low about yourself aswell, that's why I don't worship no body- no how ^^ And more than likely ever will!
