*raises her hand* I've been trying to color a picture in "Macromedia Fireworks" lately, when I realized I could use layers to make the background instead of re-filling in all my lines every time I colored in a tree. But then I soon found out that I don't know how to use layers. Can anyone give me a shove in the right direction? How do I get layers behind each other or in front of each other? And how do I draw in one layer without messing with the others? And, most importantly, heheh... how do I put in a real layer? =P

Hmm, sorry, but the only thing Macromedia I've ever used is Dreamweaver. I'll try and help anyway. Maybe it's somewhat similar to Photoshop 7.0.
To put one layer in front/behind another in Photoshop, you simply drag and drop. To color in one layer, and not the others, just click on it. You can also try "locking" the layers. For adding new layers, you can try referring to the tabs at the top, with "File" n' such. There might be one for "Layers."
'Course... this might all be useless info. Fireworks is probably drastically different from Photoshop. Just keep on exploring the program. Tutorials on the 'net can probably help, too.

Fireworks is fairly similar. It's pretty much the same thing she said there, as far as I've used.
