krystallight.zetahelp.net/Information.wav - Seems easier to say, than to write it out; in text alone.
With so many ideas, that seem to spring within the board - rarely few, if any, get off the ground. They are more like desolate objects; things that collect dust. Or perhaps, they are just, to heavy of dreams. They have, some type of actuality, yet they collide with reality. Meaning, they are to big for one small board to correctly handle. Therefore, something recently came to mind - an objective game, of a shape. A game that does not require anything other, than a web browser and a mouse. You don't have to click any extra keys, and you don't have to download any special software. You don't need to buy a game, and you don't need a super-duper internet connection. All that is neccessary, is that of your own brain. An object that you can think through - and, oh yes, you might also need a little gaming experience. Yet, in this board - that hardly seems to be an issue.
The game itself, would be focused around a simple plot. To start off with, there are no riff raff pieces to the game. Easily, the game is centered around this "gamer" feeling so many have in the community. It's hard not to go around, and hear a random conversation on some game you've never heard of. You'll constantly find yourself running into friends, buried deep in their egos - debating as to whether Mario is better in todays time, than it was in the past. Many smack their chests proudly, triumphantly calling themselves true and blue fans. They can't be beaten, or so they say. They know everything there is to know about video games. Heck, they've lived it all their life. They aren't just players of video games, they might as well be a video game. You know these type of people, don't you? And if you don't, would you say that you're one of them as well? There is nothing wrong with that actualy, and this is where the "game" comes in.
The game begins with a collection of musical themes. Those flirty songs we remember from the past. Those tunes that boomed through our speakers as we wound our way through countless castles and tombs. Some of them have forever been implanted in our minds. Others, lie on the edge; just waiting to be reborn and refreshed. Ah, those harmonic pieces of art; how they collected us, how they erected us. We enjoyed them, we enjoyed the scores of our games. They gave the adventure life. Now, you have the chance to compete with others - essentially.
The game would consist of video game music from the past and present. Of course, not the future. The number of songs in this game; is still somewhat of a mystery. It would depend upon how many people chose to join. Other than that, at the most, it might be about forty to forty-five. And while that sounds like a lot. It must be noticed that many game themes are short and sweet. Therefore, fourty or so songs is hardly a challange. There would also be numerous levels of difficulty. These would be broken into stages. Stage one would consist of ten songs, and so forth and so on. However, the songs in stage one, would be easy to identify. Or at least, hopefully. Mayhaps they would be twerky tunes from Nintendo. Things most of you know. Yet, as stages advanced - the playing ground would sweep away from just our "nutured" console. You might find that some of the melodies belong to other consoles. Even the PC. It would all be a mystery. And all of it, would challange you to see if you are a gamer. How many games have you played? How experienced, are you?
So, in layman terms - there are four rounds to one game. That's it. These four rounds consist of ten songs. These ten songs, will be linked in a post. However, don't be expecting any "fruitful" information as to what they belong to. The songs, and their titles, would be hidden. It would be up to the player, to decide their whereabouts. This is the true test. It would also give you a chance to put your heart into some music. Maybe, by listening to all of these melodies, you'll want to play a new game. So the gist is, you're given a song. It's from a game. You need to decide what game it's from. You don't need to list the composer. Just, list the game. These list of games, that you decide for each song, would be sent to a certain Mod. This Mod would have, in essence, an answer sheet. He or she would then judge each persons answers. Every stage gets harder, meaning, you can't miss as many as you did last round. So, lets say, for examples sake - you're on stage one. You miss three songs out of ten. That's okay. Stage two, you miss two songs out of ten. That's okay. Stage three, you miss one song out of ten. That's okay. Stage four, don't miss any. And luckily, toward the end, it will be down to two or three players. Whoever guesses the most correctly, wins.
The Prize? Who knows. That's a question. Maybe something artistic, maybe something you ask. It's up to the community to decide as to what a prize should be.
The only actual requirements for this - don't heavily require much participation to create. All that is needed, are numerous video game tunes. Which, are already aquired. Secondly, what's needed is a place to host each tune. Thirdly, somehow the title and data of the song would have to be hidden or masked. And, if anyone wanted to add songs to the list, they could. Yet, at the risk of not being involved in the game. Unless, anyone can think of an alternative.
In the end, there would be simple rules. Such as, when the round list goes up, you have maybe one or two days to figure out the source of each video game tune. Maybe it would extend as the rounds got harder. These times are short, merely because to long would allow people to find to much. You could of course, search for lyrics - but, most of these songs, will be cut from lyrics. The only lyrics, would likely be in the first round to add a cushion of passing.
