This is my first time posting my art Erm... I've been in a bit of a slump so I've barely drawn anything in months. In better news though, I received a new wacom tablet as an early birthday present (my other one broke) so I can draw on oekakies again ;D Most recent artwork:I drew this with my mouse because I was itching to draw on oekaki but my tablet was broken So yeah, not that great, but I couldn't ignore my urge to draw something! vappy.net/art/2005/jadienudie.jpg [PG-13 for nudity]A picture of my koopa character, Jade. vappy.net/art/2005/karikari.jpg [PG-13 for nudity]Karina, my other lizard character. She used to be a koopa/lizaflos hybrid, but I'm currently redesigning her character. vappy.net/art/2005/vap-withtrident.jpg [PG-13 for nudity]Vap swimming in the water with her trident... sort of unfinished. More of my artwork can be seen at my DeviantART page too: vaporshi.deviantart.com. Hopefully I'll get out of this slump so that I can do some art exchanges...

Ack, my tablet broke a long while ago. But if I use oekaki, I usually battle with my mouse, hahah.
Oof, I hope your art block ends soon...I have been in a terrible one for months, I feel your pain! :/
Heh, Jade Koopa looks full of attitude. I love her hair. And Karina's too! Reminds me slightly of Card Captor Sakura, heh.
I adore the last picture, the form is so well excuted...it looks all flowy and simple too. I like simple best. : D Great job on them all, can't wait to see more from you.

= \ the charaters take on a lot of human charateristics that i dont find too appealing, but other members may. the thing i do like is the shading and shadowing. great work!

Thanks, Kosh! Double-scoop ice cream Red- I'm torn between the two types of anatomy used on yoshies. The more traditional yoshi shape (saddle, horse-like) and the anthromorphic yoshi. I generally stick with human characteristics because it helps me practice human anatomy while drawing yoshies at the same time, but I enjoy both types of body structure. I also find it harder to draw clothes on traditional yoshi than anthro yoshi. I'm going to experiment in the near future though and see if I can somehow combine the two without creating a horrible mutant I don't really have a "style" so I'm always trying new things. I'm particularly attracted to the style used in my signature (the picture was drawn by Winx). I like how she managed to give Vap human characteristics while somehow maintaining the cute condensed yoshi body.

Well, they're very anthro. I think they are very well drawn, but like Red said, I like really Yoshi-like Yoshi's!

Bleh. Maybe it's time I change my style if so many people dislike it? I'd definitely like to make my yoshi style less-anthro but I'm not sure how. I'll post some "experimentation styles" later on, I suppose!

a yoshi is still a yoshi,no matter how different it is on the out side,it's still yoshi
IMO the paint brush on full size is a better one but it's IMO

I soooooo love that picture of Vap with the trident. It's so sexy and beautiful at the same time, and the bubbles are so cute Double-scoop ice cream I love bubbles~
Aw, Vap, don't change your style! XD Just do what I do - switch between them. I have a couple of yoshi styles, myself; the anthropromorphic and the little crescent body shape. :3 I think both are fun depending on my mood. Plus, I adore your anthros, so I don't want you to stop drawing them totally TRIPLE BONUS MULTIPLIER ! !;;

Well, if you're torn between the two...it's hard to combine, but there are a few things that could be combined or remove to make the perfect mix.
First off, yoshi's are born from eggs, right? I don't think belly buttons would ever be used.
Second, hair tends to be necessary, so I won't say take that off, even though it's just because we feel uncomfortable being hairless...
Third, yoshi's tend to uhm...not wear clothes anyhow, but fan art tends to bend that line anyhow. But just a plain yoshi wouldn't be 'nudity'.
Human poses can be a nice touch, but avoid going too big on the...uhm...female parts if you don't mind, we do have some young members here.
Lastly, just look at the yoshi and think, "could I have done the same thing with a picture of a regular person?" If you could have just drawn a regular person instead, then it's not really a yoshi yoshi... if your creation has qualities that only something else could have, then it is truly that.
Now, I wonder what those PG-13 piccies are...I didn't bother looking.
Edit: Yes, I just saw the PG 13 ones, and you might have gone a little over-board on some of the...parts, but I did like the trident one a lot with the pose, just a bit shocking the idea of looking at something...oh never mind, I tend to be a little shocked at the idea of nudity.

I didn't think they were dirty ^^; I've seen people draw really.... really detailed things before so I'm not shocked as much anymore, I guess XD; Oooh on the belly button thing, I've been seeing a lot of people drawing them lately XD I think it could be explained as yoshies who give live birth? It could be possible! Or they could be just like Coral and it's a scar :3; Long story behind that, lol *dork*

Human poses can be a nice touch, but avoid going too big on the...uhm...female parts if you don't mind, we do have some young members here. I don't want to start a huge controversy here, but I'm offended that you would even think the female body itself is offensive. I can understand it being offensive if her boobs were flopping out in a provocative manner or if she was rubbing them sexually or something. But in the first picture they're just... there. Many girls have boobs. I have boobs-- very big ones in fact. Being told to "draw the female parts smaller because they're offensive to younger viewers" is like saying that being me is offensive to children. And when I say me, I don't mean Vaporshi, I mean the real me. As in this: Does my physical existence offend small children?

Hmmm...you give a good point there, and I did not mean it like that. It's just that...oh never mind, I suppose it's just me. I still can't get the idea that some people would expose themselves somewhat...and yes, there is free speech, sure, go ahead and draw what you want, sorry I even said anything. And for Petes sake, I did not mean that all people bodies were offensive and they should be ashamed .

And for Petes sake, I did not mean that all people bodies were offensive and they should be ashamed . That's fair enough. I don't understand what you were actually trying to say since I only see the mental connection that My/Vap's boobs=offensive to children, boobs=female body, thus female body = offensive. But if your intentions weren't saying that my female body is offensive then it's all good.

Alright, glad that's understood. Let's hope a flame war didn't start here...

Aw, I don't see a flame war starting. You both expressed your points and are at a good conclusion now :3
And I love that pose, Vap, I don't know why. You have the prettiest hair.

Yeah. I didn't mean to offend. Just my opinion, and as I said, the art is really well drawn! I just have my own style. I really like it!

I stated it in another thread elsewhere, but female form is a part of art as anything else. Its a pity its often overlooked because of people freaking out about nudity and such. And for the record, if it has breasts and/or a bulging crotch with no visible nipples or genitalia, its called a G-rated picture. Again, wonderful pictures Vap, I think your style is great as-is. : D

Whee, pretty! Though I am more biased to traditional Yoshis, I still love your style. It's really unique. I'm not sure, but just the way you make the Yoshi faces seems different from anyone else's style. You're awesome at anatomy and hair, too. Nice jobs on all of 'em. ^^
I wouldn't say "G-Rated," since it's still a somewhat suggestive image.
