To everyone:
Do not post your work on this board if you're gonna say it's crap. What this does is insult all those who can't quite do anything close to what you call "crap"; Because, if your work is crap, then obviously every other lesser work would be mega-crap. If you do feel your work is crap, then why do you post it anyway? You can criticize your work if you wish, but please don't say it sucks or that it is crap, etc... Use constructive criticism, not derogatory criticism.
Thank you...

...*looks around* I wonder who that was aimed at... .___.* Seeing as I am kinda affiliated with the word crap, eh. I only posted my stuff because I thought everyone bizarrely enjoyed it. Oh well...shan't do it anymore then.

It's called pity-praise. Normally, the thing goes like:
Author: My work sucks! Newbie Reader: No it doesn't! *Praises it*
Whereas, more often than not...
Author: My work sucks! Oldbie Reader: Yes, it does. *Points out mistakes*

Some of you are not interpreting my message correctly! The purpose of this is to not reduce other people's opinions of their own work to pieces, which happens every time a really good art person calls his/her work crap, or says that it sucks.
That's not what I'm asking for...
It was aimed at everyone, as it says in the beginning...
Koshizu, would you rather keep calling your work "crap" so that every other person that can't draw like you will feel their own work is even worse? Is that even fair? You can still point out all the mistakes you want, as LONG as you don't say it sucks or that it is crap as in "It is crap just because I say so"; I mean, it is VERY different to say that "you don't like how it turned out" or that you "hate a certain thing" about it, than saying "It sucks because it sucks, end of the discussion". Please, try to understand...
Instead of saying that it sucks, describe why it sucks.
I won't boot any of you even if you keep saying your work sucks, as this is just a plea from me to see if people are willing to listen and to respect other people's feelings. I care, do you?

Thats right. People CAN'T draw like me. Truth is, everyone has a different style. Even people who try to mimic others give away their work by tell-tale signs of their own style, even if its very minor. But then, theres no such thing as not being able to draw. All people have the ability to use their hands (or anything else) to do something that would be considered art. I also find it very shallow that theres such a thing as 'lesser art/or ability'. Art is all about perception. And peoples' minds are made up entirely of perception. Lesser work in one persons eyes could seem like amazing art in anothers. You just have to find out the people with that opinion.
There aren't always reasons as to why you don't like a piece of work. You might not like it just because. And criticism, well...I think everyone should have freedom of speech and all, I get a bit tired of just seeing 'Cute cute cute cute...' all the time. Noone ever criticizes my work, so I never improve. Thats why I feel I'm crap at art. I just don't feel that sugarcoating the wording would help. Crap, bad...whatever word you use would be negative, so I fail to see what the fuss is about. Unless you don't like cussing, then fine. Just don't read the posts with it in them. If you don't want to reply to art posts when someone says their work is crap, then just ignore it. No one is forcing you to reply.
And Darkmark is right; people who usually bash their own work are fishing for sympathy. Heck, I admit, I've done it before. But more often than not, I hope to get some words of advice from others' opinions. People hardly seem to take it that way when you feel your own work is bad, though. Personally, I'd rather not lie about it and say 'Oh yes, I'm super duper happy with the amazing art I've produced' when I know I'm not.
But yeah, art is a whole kettle of fish anyways. Different people have different opinions.

I'm negative. It's not my fault if I say that I'm crap Actually, yes, yes it is your fault if you go around calling youself "crap". Noone else is saying it about you, you are the only one, therefore it is your fault.
Stop whining about yourself and just... Be more positive about yourself.
It's high time someone wrote this, kudos to you, Yoshiru-kun. Noone wants a whiner and you'll often find more people respecting you when you have some guts, and stand up proudly and say "Oh hey! I did this!" It means that you are proud of your work, and that you are not afraid to show it to the world.
Pity posts that go along the lines of "Oh! I cant draw, I suck!" are just annoying in general, and noone likes to read them. Seriously.

Well, maybe you've drawn a picture that is fairly good but not up to your normal standard, so you think it's crap by comparison. *Shrugs*
You shouldn't bash ALL your work, though.
