Wow, Teh, you did a really great job on that. The block seems a but too cube-ish, but it's still very awesome indeed. It looks like it's an official piece of artwork from Nintendo.
...Poor shyguy.

i've never understood how you could get the colors like that, I'm going through hell trying to get my backgrounds looking all yoshi island like. The shading on hills in the back, is just sooo like that of yoshis island, it's perfect! over did the boulder? I think not, it's got a real good rocky-like effect. did you colour this on MS paint by anychance? if so....then just great, i don't know anyother way to put it. It's enjoyable to look at. great job!

Ooh now, so this is what you were working on for so long last night. When you stated you were going to color, it was never known that you were going to do something like this. Talk about taking a little bit of free time, and using it all up to make something look more than totally perfect. Words alone would have trouble going over the colors that you utilized in this piece. There is something about this style that is diffrent from what you usually do. It still has your name attatched to it, that's for sure. The anatomy of the Yoshi is the same, and the backgrounds still have that hefty flair of atmosphere. You tipped it a new side though, what's meant there is that it has that "Sketchy, rustic" feel to it. Many would fail in trying to use that, but you really didn't stumble at all. In fact, for heading into new grounds, you more or less conquered your foe and took up all it's land. You've always loved that "Yoshi Island" feel, and it shows in everything that you do; from the way you script out your colors and outlining. Especially in this piece, it is still existant; how you do it, that's something of the sorts. Hey, to think, if Nintendo was to see something like this. They might as well hire you to do some of the art for them, because you can really fool the viewer into thinking your creation is the real thing; that has to take time, and it really must use your patience. Yet, since you've done it for so long, it probally doesn't zap as much away from yourself. Put everything together like you do, and you get yourself a star winning adaptation to thrive on. You are like a star, except you don't burn things; oh wait, nevermind. Still though, that's very kicky, and you really were able to give it some ground.
The colors are what really captivate the whole piece; then again, you did just color it. So hey, that would make some sense there, besides that thought; it's not just the colors alone, it's how you used them and implanted them in here. Everyone has their own way of coloring, from warm, to plain, to plastic. This is something new, and it's always been with the Yoshi Spirit; it looks like you trully took a brush and painted this over with your bare hands. It has that, "Stroked" effect to it, especially how you shaded the grass and the hills. First off, the hills are amazing man; they have this fun little childish effect to them. Plainly because you established your shading off very quickly. Sort of like light scribles at the front, and turning into darker ones the farther you go on. Not only is that an awesome way to do it, but it really lets the hills feel more of a part of the picture. They are rounded, smooth, and look as they should for anything of that effort. The orange grass, that's more than just a superb touch; it gives off this late or early fall type of sensation. Placing your picture in an attitude as well, it's nice that you were able to brighten the very horizon of the grass. This helps give the rest of it that rolling motion; the little scribbles to darken the palette here and there also move this session along. The rock itself, man; that really takes breath away. If you used texture, or did that by hand, then that's really great either way; you were able to make it bright on the top, and slowly a lesser hue for the bottom. Yoshi and Shy Guy are obvious statement to the meaning in this picture, both have that plastic like texture to them; and the thick placed colors really help give them life.
What really sticks this all together is your use of the sketchy lines and background; many have trouble placing a landscape behind their main feature. You don't seem to have fallen off the edge at all; in fact, you really gave everything life. It has that "dimensional" effect, so the whole picture itself isn't just in two-dimensional form. It's in many diffrent areas, and really gives existance to the frame. Also, the meaning and fun of the focused aspect keeps your name attatched to it for that innocent type of play feel. Nothing is wrong about this piece, and it's a good thing you colored it. Because it deserved it, and you definetly gave more honor to this sketch than anything before.

Mhh, looks so bloody much like the style of Yoshi's Island. :3 I like the rock, the shading really gives it that stone-feeling.
I also love the flower's expression. TRIPLE BONUS MULTIPLIER ! !

Eek! I want to play my Super Nintendo again suddenly! Hahaha.
That rock is awesomeness. And I love the background. Your shading is absolutely on, as well.
There's a spot of white near the bottom of the talking block that makes it look like it's at the wrong angle. Just that.

That's a great style you've got going there! It looks like the Yoshi's Island world! (I'm sure that was intentional...)
