I want to learn Japanese SO BADLY, that I can't stand seeing anyone learn it before me. Not much I can do about that anyway
I feel I must live in Japan to learn Japanese correctly.

Hey all, be honest... Can you have a long conversation in the languages that you claim to "speak"? I know that I can't speak Japanese at all (because I still don't know enough words to build sentences), yet I can identify approximately 200-300 words (and obviously spell them out too). I can read Hiragana 99% and Katakana 50% (still working on it). BUT, that doesn't make me a Japanese-speaking person AT ALL.

When I said I could speak Chinese well, I mean pronounce it well. Not actually speaking as in having meaningful conversations .

I can have long conversations in spanish. Me and Teh have done it before and it was fun! ;D

Well, I think I can have conversations in Spanish if I tried. I've never tried, though. I'm not able to form Tagalog sentences by myself, but I know several words.

I can read Hiragana 99% and Katakana 50% (still working on it).

Hehehe, I can read Katakana about 80%. There are still a few characters that I don't know.
