Hey guys, Toshi here...
Right, well, i was discussing this with Twi and PinkFloydYoshi, and i've decided to do something new for the community of Yoshi's Corner. I'm going to create a guild on a fairly popular and addictive MMORPG called Survival Project for our members here at Yoshi Corner. Why? Well i thought this would be a nice little addition to the forums and something to help advertise the forums for all Yoshi fans (because we all know Yoshi's Corner kicks all the other forums ass TRIPLE BONUS MULTIPLIER ! !) and unlike games such as ROSE and Maple Story, provides more fun and action and the ability to co-operate better with your team.
What is Survival Project?
Survival Project is an full-time action MMORPG that never dies to please. It boasts various game modes such as Quest, Team Battle and the popular Big Battle mode, it even allows such games like Soccer and Hockey as well! The gameplay is also simplistic and easy to get to grips with, so it's useable by anyone. Even if you don't like the key setting, you can always change it.
SP makes use of a card system to help enhance your character abilities, depending on what card element you choose effects your characters ability in battle.
(In game screenshot of Survival Project. Character: Xyrho)
What's this card system about?
These cards can improve your characters abilities depending on which you choose. There are 4 different elements with their own unique stat boosters and effects, Fire, Water, Wind and Earth. There are certain characters that specialise in each of these elements.
(Some Fire Type cards; Fire Magic lv4, Fire Sword lv4 and Fire Boots lv4)
One thing about this card system, they all have an activation rate that differs depending on what you equip. Base activation for Arms and Defense cards are 50% while magic is 30%, however, equipping the 3 cards of the same one element improves these rates by 10%. So mixing these elements will affect your performance. Characters also affect the base activation.
The cards also come in different forms...
Black cards - Basic, SP cards. These are bought with in-game money called Codes. These are your basic ones, so grab yourself some cards when you got the money. Black cards go from lv1 - lv7
(Black cards are bought with codes, fuse Spirit Cards to them to improve their level and/or special ability)
Gold cards - These cards are improved versions of the black cards, however, these are bought (or charged) using real money bought on their site. These improve base activation rate by a further 20% and grant you the ability to go from lv1 - lv8. You can charge your current black cards as well to become Gold cards if you wish.
Silver cards - These unlock special features, again, paid with real money. These unlock premier characters (which are better than normal characters) and other features like more slot inventory and other nice additions.
Spirit cards - These cannot be bought in a shop, but they are found throughout SP. Picking these up grant you a few spirit cards of a certain element. These cards can be used to fuse with your Black/Gold cards to improve their level. For example, 1 fire spirit is needed to upgrade a lv1 Fire Shield to a lv2 Fire Shield. This also applies to fusing skills to give your card a special ability. Spirits are also granted to you if you buy any of the Silver cards (amount varies on what you buy). These are pretty hard to get, but worth the find, if you get the right element. Spirits are also gained from logging into a game after a day, depending on who your main character is, you will be awarded a random amount of spirits, codes and exp.
(Spirit cards come in 4 elements, from left to right, Water, Fire, Earth and Wind)
What's the levelling system like?
The levelling system is simple, kill an enemy, you get exp, complete a quest, you get exp, KO a player in battle mode, you get exp. If you gain enough exp, you level up, that's it, nothing else, no strength bonus, no HP bonus, just a nice little jewel next to your character name showing rank, SP requires skill to win, not how high in level you are.
SP is split into 3 channels, Beginner, Hero and Epic. As you grow in level, the next channel will unlock and so on. Each channel has a multiplier for how much exp and codes you will gain in each channel.
Do you create your own character?
Nope, you don't. SP have their own arsonel of characters for you to pick and choose whenever you like. There are 12 in all, each with their own abilities and speciality in element. You start off with one, but as you progress through the levels, the rest will unlock (all are unlocked at lv12)
The characters are (From left to right in screenshot)
Xyrho (Fire Type) - Xyrho is your basic character, you begin the game with him. He seems to be the preferred choice amongst SP players for his basic abilities. His power is average and so is his HP, MP and BP, but he's quick on his feet and quick on the rotation.
Shamoo (Fire Type) - Shamoo is the fastest character in SP. She has the ability to fly, so she can bypass all simple obstacles like rivers. Her abilities seem great and she has a lot of MP, but her HP and BP are not so grand.
Sven (Water Type) - Sven is one of the stronger characters. He has some great HP and attack power, but with every strong character in RPGs, doesn't have a great deal of other stats. He's lethal when put in the right hands.
Cream (Water Type) - Cream is another fast, flying character. Her abilities are somewhat similar to Shamoo, but she seems to lack the power compared to her. Not a great choice amongst SP players.
Roland (Earth Type) - Roland is a nice all rounder. Nothing much to say about him except he's very basic. His attack is quite good as he stabs long distance making it hard for anyone to get close to him, but he's not a preferred choice due to rotation and speed.
Aurelli (Wind Type) - Aurelli is your fastest on-foot character. She has very little MP, and because her melee attack is a complete 360 attack, she consumes it quickly, but she does have a good long range attack which consumes tiny bits of it instead. Aurelli is a good choice for supporting.
Hawk (Wind Type) - Hawk is another basic character. Hawk is very similar to Xyrho, except stronger. He uses a 2-hit combo to attack with, but misjudging this when attacking can make him very weak. Usually a good choise amongst the aggressive of players.
Hazel (Earth Type) - Hazel is a flying character. She has the most BP of all characters, making her last longer when accelerating and "running" (flying in her case). She also has the ability to heal herself when she hits an enemy, making up for her poor HP. Her long range attack is pretty darn fast too.
Cara (Fire Type) - Cara is a basic character. Cara is quick on the turning and the offense, much she has very little MP and quite poor on other aspects such as speed. She is still a strong choice.
Warren (Earth Type) - Warren is your strong character. Warren is similar to sven, except harder to maneouvre and a little bit stronger. I'm not saying this is true, but from experience, when Warren runs into players, he hurts them, and he holds the shortest ranged long range attack if it makes sense. XD
Lucy (Water Type) - Lucy is another all rounder. Lucy plays role of supporter, as she has a good long range attack (controlled by arrow keys) and the ability to heal others. She's pretty much average, although i think her HP is low.
Will (Wind Type) - Will is the latest character to appear in SP. Will is a very adapt character, pity about his poor manoeuvering, but he can surely pack a punch. A nice solid choice for anyone if you can get used to his sluggish movement.
Random - Well take a flippin' guess what that means! XD
This game sounds great! How do i join?
You must create an E-games account first. Creating this account will let you log into the SP site and into the game. Follow the on-screen instructions into signing up and there you have it! I must inform you though, there is an option on there asking for an IC number, i don't know why it shows up but, if you do get this, tapping a random number will work just fine, it did for a friend of mine anyway.
How do i join the guild?
Well to start off with, i have not yet created the guild, i wanna see some interest first before i do so.
Anyway, the most important thing i must point out is, you need to be lv9 or higher before you can be part of a guild, it'll give you a chance to get used to the game if you're just starting off. If you do manage to get to lv9, you can check out the guild section on the SP site. Click on Guild > Show Guild and at the bottom of the page, search for the guild (i'm gonna call the guild "Yoshi'sCorner", if they don't accept the name, i'll let you know of an alternative guild name). Once the guild has appeared (and if you're logged in), click "join" and i'll do the rest. =3
I'm convinced, gimme the download link!!
Hehe, here it is. =3 I recommend you download from Mirror Site 4. The rest don't seem to work so well. =/
Survival Project download page
It took me about 30 mins to download, it'll vary depending on your connection and/or speed. Hope you guys enjoy what SP has to offer!
Anyway, i hope this'll get some interest, if you have more questions, just send a PM to me or visit the SP site, they explain it a bit better (although i've pretty much said everything here).
