Oooooooooh my gosh, sorry for me not being on at all again, my school hates me. Anyway, I was wondering if you guys could help me... well actually someone out. Now, a few of you guys already know about this since I've asked you over MSN, but I'll just repeat mysef for those of you who I haven't (or haven't been able to) asked. The letter below is something I made specifically to be printed out and left on someone's door or mailbox. It'll explain why I'm asking for donations, please take a look at it. Now, if you can't donate, or don't want to, there is another way to help if you're willing or able, and you could also do it if you donate money as well. Could you print the letter out and get the word around? If not with your neighbors and community, then with your friends and family. I'm trying to make it so that more people will be aware, thus more money can be donated. Anyhoo, here's the letter:
Dear sir and/or madam,
Hi, you may know me and you may not, I'm Gerry Dragan III and I'm sixteen years old. I'm writing this to you because something quite urgent has come up and I ask for your cooperation if you are able. My school, StarShine Academy, recently got in touch with a fifteen year old in Ghana names Moses. He aspires to work and specialize in the ER field, and loves his schooling. He wants to know about the United States and from what I've been told, is very curious about our country and would like to live here later on in his life.
The teacher of our middle school grade, Ms. Downs, is the one I believe who is in contact with him, they've known each other since around December of '05. Recently though, his mom was fired from her job, leaving them with no money. He lives in a make-shift home, nothing like what we have here, and he lives with his mother and grandmother. Now, they have no money coming in and are thus going into poverty as well as starvation.
As a school, we are attempting to help him out and are collecting money to do so. This weekend, either Feb 11th or 12th, Ms. Downs will be mailing whatever money she recieves to him to help pay for food expenses. Then, for as long as we are able, we will be collecting money to help pay for high school. You see, unlike here where schooling is free, it is something you must pay for in Ghana. Our goal is to raise 500 dollars, that amount will pay for one full year of high school. I myself have already donated 8 dollars and 37 cents, and plan on donating 20 more dollars on the 9th, my next day of school.
So, where do you come in? We'd like you to help donate money for food expenses and high school tuition, Moses greatly needs this as he is in a state of emergency. Please consider donating, even a dollar is worth it. If you'd like my email, it is gerrydthird@cox.net . If you want to contact my school however, their phone number is (602) 957-9557. And my school's address is 2801 N. 31st St. Phoenix, AZ, USA. 85008.
Please consider donating, if you are unable to we understand, but any and all donations are greatly appreciated! Also, if you could, would you be able to pass this message on to your family and friends? It'd be really nice to spread the word around, the more people who donate means the more money we are able to raise for Moses. In any case, please think about it and I thank you for your time.
-Sincerely,
Gerry Dragan III
PS- You are recieving this due to one of my friends, they were kind enough to help spread the word on, and I thank them for that. If you know them as well, give them thanks too if it's not a problem, thank you!
