I was wandering the internet, and I had gotten a message from one of my systems that I had a trojan. My dad immedietaly took action, found out where it might have been, and deleted all the files... they were temporary internet files and cookies.
Now what I'm worried about, is that all that I try to do online doens't remember me. When I went to YC, I set log in to 'forever' and it asked me to log in this time... same for a few others. I'm wondering if this is a trojan keylogger and if there's anyway to tell the difference...
So my computer was set on a full scale search after the deletion of all the temporary internet files, and there was no virus or trojan, but my dad remains unsure as wether it COULD have hid somewhere else from me...
Is it possible that it hid somewhere else after such a check? What could a trojan do to me? Should I have not logged on to YC?

Well, I've never had a problem with trojans or the like when concerning YC. The very few times that I've had a virus, my computer got rid of them painlessly.
A trojan is a piece of software that claims to be a legitimate program, such as a game or another application that would normally be useful, and in fact turns out to be malicious. I wouldn't think that the software would have jumped to another location, since it is a trojan and not actually a virus.

That's odd... I never downloaded anything... well, if it can't have jumped like that, then I'm safe. Thank you computer man!

I thought this was about a differnt kind of trojan.....
( older people who know what I'm talking about brick me )*
If I ever got a trojan alert I'd go strait to my virus scan. That usually clears everything.
