Go figure... This is exactly how I feel now, thanks to certain people making me feel bad about my limited artistic skills.. (I hope you're F---ing happy, Shika! >___< )  EDIT: Just a few things to say here.. first I know of the irony of the fact that this post in itself contains 'Art', but I only drew this because I think I am better at expressing my emotons and feelings through computer drawings instead of typing up words. Secondly, I am not upset because my art is being criticised, it is more than just that (read the thread down a bit more to understand the problem). Sorry for making a post like this, but I was so upset earlier today that I just wanted to let it off my chest, but I do feel better now, so I might resume art like normal.. thanks to my friends who helped make me feel better. =] |

okay here are my two cents... first off art is always gonna be critized no matter how you look at it..if you really think your that bad get better sheesh...try varying your art..just look where i am after a year of art...where did it come from? PRACTICE. I drew my ass off and now its pays off! i can draw almost anything  . and Don't let one persons critizism get you... if you really think your that bad then..ask around? |

If you give up that easy, then maybe you weren't cut out to be an artist. Hey, its not for everyone.
Tim's right. If you feel so bad about it, practice till you get better. I think its very naive that people think that art is something that *poof!* you can be good at then and there. Its not, and it can take years before you see improvement. Art is a gradual thing; if you're impatient and get upset about criticism, then it'll rarely work. Artists have to be hard-nosed people; if you disregard all the advice people give you to improve, then you'll never get better. As with most things in life, unfortunately.

Sorry for quickly skimming the two posts i recieved but after reading to a certain point, I want to get one thing clear: I did NOT recieve criticism. Instead, my art was being unfairly insulted by another YC member (Shika), and as well as that, he says it's a "Fact" - not an opinion - that my art just plain sucks ass. Is my art really that horrible to anyone else? I dont mind recieving criticism, but I dont want people insulting my artwork and not even telling me what's wrong with it (other than the fact that it "gets boring with each day", in the words of Shika).
I know my artwork isnt the best around here, and I dont expect it to be, especally with several gifted people floating around these boards, but to hear insults about the best I can do really makes me feel bad about my work, and makes me wonder if I really should bother anymore...
And one more thing; I am aware of the irony in this thread (saying that I cant do art when I actually just drew something), but I only drew it because I like expressing my emotions through drawings on computer instead of words through my mouth.
Again, I dont mind recieving criticism, that's totally fine by me, but if I'm only gonna recieve negative bashing and unfair insults from someone here as a result of expressing my passion for computer drawing, then I'm afraid there might not be anymore drawings of mines posted here on YC.....

People, what Jelly Belly is trying to tell you is that Shika is being a jerk by telling him that he cannot draw at all and that his art sucks to the maximum power. Everyday, Shika insults Jelly Belly for no reason, he just keeps bullying him and no matter what Jelly Belly does, he keeps on going. Shika uses multiple accounts just to tease him and make fun of him. Jelly Belly loves to draw, but because of this one YC member that is acting like a big bully, he feels depressed and helpless to the fact that he cannot take it anymore. I find this very selfish of the bully, Jelly Belly makes mistakes but he still desreves respect, I mean, his art is so cute and whenever I just see art that expresses depression, it upsets me. Maybe there is something we all can do to help Jelly Belly shake of Shika the big bully.

Wow, Jelly I've heard about people that likes to get attention but you? You seriously cross the line of that.
The reason why I continue to hate you is because you're trying to get attention from people. Either you try to get them by acting "Whoohes me! Everyone is being mean to me and no one loves me." or you'll just kiss up to some guy and tell them bad stuff about me.
You keep trying to fool people by telling them that you are a sensitive guy. You've got mad at me for the SMALLEST thing, you've sweared against me, you've attempted to insult me with god-forbidden words.
So I doubt it that you are a 'sensitive' guy.
And now you're pulling this whole thing into the boards in attempt to get attention again?

I don't think Shika deserves a ban from HERE unless he brings it up here as well through posts or private messages. ah, sorry about that, for some reason I thought it was happening here in pms, or art topics I posted at, and didn't look back at.....but, I still don't think its really nice to say really bad things about someones art if you don't like it. Looks like since this is outside YC, then there's no control over it. Perhaps you and Shika just shouldn't talk to each other if you don't get along. I don't really know what the whole story is, so can't say much more. I do like your work though JellyBelly. |

He keeps using new AIM/MSN accounts to bother me some more, no matter how many times i block him off my list! Don't think YC is the only place you post your art. Shika can just easily view your artwork elsewhere and then tell you about them via AIM/MSN. Besides, it just so happens to involve two people who are members of YC, but it's not like he's disturbing you and/or others via YC, therefore he shouldn't deserve a ban from here unless he does so.
